Just to make things a bit clearer you should state that this goes to the External SD card not the internal partition called sd card

My blinkfeed stopped working after flashing the HBOOT - No Red Text, S-OFF, Unlocked
I even wiped the device and the same thing was happening.

Nevermind flashed stock and the same thing is happening I think its just my phone

Just got done flashing worked great. Only issue was I flashed the no red text version since I removed the tampered flash before hand. However the no red text zip file is missing the android-info.txt file. So it wouldn't flash the zip in fastboot without that. Had to add that file in (it was included with other zips) manually then flash and now it works fine. Might wanna update that file for other people using fast boot. No more red text! thanks op

So I have a breaking bad splash screen I really liked on my HTC m7. Now that my m8 is s-off I should be able to flash it, but will the same file work and is the procedure the same on the m8?

OK, I changed the link to the correct file this time and I just tried the link and downloaded the file just in case.

The procedure to flash the splash screen should be similar but I'm not sure if the files are named the same with the M8 and M7. I'd like to know too because I want to take a crack at creating a couple of them for my favorite sports teams.

That was quick! Let me know if you find anything on splash screen, I'm gonna hold off on my old m7 splash screen until a guide is posted. Don't wanna be messing anything up that I'm not sure if it works, especially with s-off.

Using bootloader method since I have no SD card, where do I put the file? And every time I press the power button and volume down, it always reboots...

I'm trying to use the method that doesn't require a computer..

I like to update my firmwares via OTA updates vs manually flashing. Those that did it this way your hboot will be updated to the latest version 3.18.0.0000 however the ugly red text will return. That being said you could downgrade to one of them posted here but that could cause issues. Attached is no red text hboot version 3.18.0.0000. Flash it the same way you would 3.16.0.0000 via fastboot (not in recovery). Tested & works fine on my HTC One M8 non-HK edition.

Has this been tested, and if you dont mind could you post a pic of the hboot screen. Sorry for the scepticism but I was just talking this over with someone who had just recovered from a brick earlier today.

Yes, I will post screenshots in a moment, need to charge old phone.
