Hi all,

On my M8, I have a couple of push email accounts, plus your usual array of push notifications from social media and IM apps. Typically, with WiFi on, I consume about 5% per hour of battery (per GSam) - Phone is connected to a LTE network, despite being on WiFi

Now, usually, when im out and about, I have 4G LTE enabled, so I get great speeds. I've noticed, that if I turn LTE off (and put it onto HSPA), my standby battery goes to about 3% per hour.

Given that most of the work day is indoors with WiFi, i'm looking for an app, or a method, for my M8 to switch to 3G WCDMA when its connected onto wifi, and when wifi disconnects, for it to switch to 4G LTE....

Anyone know how I can do this with minimal manual intervention? IFTTT doesnt seem to be able to, and whilst "Intelli3G" looked promising, it requires root, and I'm not rooted for the time being.

You could try Tasker and set up a profile to do that, but I believe you may still require root to do so..
