I think if u open such a thread u have to help with errors people geting i wait 4 days then i quote close the thread i chek this thread every hour 4 days no reply so if this happen to you what u do ?

I did download YouTube app to test, but with my lack of knowledge of how it should behave combined with the poor internet speed tethered to my phone, I was unable to help with your issue...
I do think this can be a useful thread, it just seems to be a small amount of users that are active here.
Genymotion has twitter and google+ if you would like to post your question there.

1:- I am not the Dev of this s/w and can't fix issues.
2:- I have been busy since last month, can't check xda in every 15 mins.
3:- This is a guide thread and I'm trying to reply whenever I visit xda.

Either HW power is low as running Android on VM requires good amount of power or some bad settings.

I found that GMS FC'd (deleted it and it works now)
and that Google Keyboard FC'd (deleted it, switched to the japanese input on Hardware keyboard and it works now)

Impossible rooted with Genimotion...some idea?

Hi everyone, and sorry for my bad English... I tried all ways to be root on Genymotion, and VM (VirtualBox and VMware) how Android JB 4.3 but the result is always the same... failed I haven't root rights.... are there some way to rooted on emulated android?

I read this: "FYI, This android virtual environment is pre-rooted condition" but since my iMAC was impossible... I'm frustrated and I don't think to be continued becasuse is not clear... (sure for my poor knowledge)...
Any advice is really welcome...

    Ever thought of running Android on PC? Trying out apps and playing with it?
    Genymotion, provides the best Android virtual environment out there and runs Android 4.1
    So let’s start installing it.
    This guide will help you installing Genymotion !


    Note:-
    • This tutorial is based on Windows 7 HP 64bit
    • Know how to use your PC. I do NOT teach PC 101. Don't ask for clarification of this process – it is dirt simple if you are competent (- attn1).
      [*]Specs of the system used. (Full details in Signature)

    Intel Core i7 3610QM
    nVidia GT 650M 2 GB DDR3
    8 GB RAM

    You'll need the following: -


    Assuming you got Virtual box installed and is functional, Follow the guide.

    Starting up the app for first time after installation.

    You'll need to log in to download the virtual device

    After logging in, select the virtual device or variant you want to try out.

    ADB

    ADB can be used for various purposes like copying a file to VM, installing apps, debugging, etc.

    You'll need the following files :-


    You'll need to connect to VM. VM's IP is 192.168.56.101 (is customizable). Use the following command to connect.

    Code: 
    adb connect 192.168.56.101

    or

    Code: 
    adb start-server
adb connect 192.168.56.101

    Basic Functions

    ADB push (sends files to your VM) --
    Code: 
    adb push example.apk /sdcard/example.apk


    ADB pull (Receives files from your VM) --
    Code: 
    adb pull /system/app/example.apk example.apk


    ADB install (installs application) --
    Code: 
    adb install example.apk

    Note:- The files pushed / pulled / apk installed should be in the directory of the ADB folder or else you may have to write the whole location of the file.



    Issues.

    The issues I faced are as follows :-

    1. Flickering issue (Maybe due to nVidia GPU.) It's fine now.

    I got root like this:
    Download SuperSU from the Play Store
    Download the attached zip and extract the su binary out of it (I got it from SuperSU)
    Open a terminal on your PC and run the following:
    Code: 
    adb devices
adb root
adb connect <the IP that adb devices showed>
adb remount
adb push su /system/xbin/
adb push su /system/bin
adb shell chmod 6755 /system/bin/su
adb shell chmod 6755 /system/xbin/su
    Now root will work with SuperSU

    Example: if you are on Windows, create a folder (c:\new_folder), copy your apk in it, start virtualbox. In virtualbox you can see the different virtual Android system you installed in Genymotion. Click on the one you want to install your app, go to "Configuration", "Shared folders" and create a new automatic mounting shared folder (clicking on +) and while it's creating choose the path of the new folder created on Windows (c:\new_folder) and give it the name "new_folder". Then you can open Genymotion and start your virtual Android system. In Ex File Explorer go to /mnt/shared/new_folder and install your apk which is in folder.
