Hi all, I have had a PM from king200

Quote:

Native SD and NAND strange thing.
Sorry about he PM. I cannot post in the forum.

HD2, running NEXUS NAND rom. Run PA NativeSD w/o problems. Run NativeSD, JB rom and then I cannot boot into NAND. Hangs on boot screen. Need reload the .zip for Nexus rom and goes back to normal. I don't know any connection between NativeSD and NAND rom. Happens every time.

I have also found that many problems caused with all roms are a poorly formatted card, particularly the FAT32 partition. Those system error messages and Sim card missiong etc. are caused by bad card and people blame the card. Windows scandisk will report the file structure as good. Reformatting with Windows doesn't seem to help. Using Linux to format the disk works. I use Gparted. Solved problem several times even in the 16g x class 2 Stock TMOUS phone.

Proof with the NEXUS rom is just to pull the card out and see that the messages go away.

Can Any help him/her out as i dont use my HD2 daily any more

Thanks for any help you can give

Added : fix permissions in nativeSD roms
Added : clear Dalvik cache in nativeSD roms
Added : kernel update(*) for nativeSD ONLY roms (thank you master Tytung for the guidance)
Enjoy and if you like it please press [Thank you] button.

(*) How to update kernel :
1) download the zip file of the kernel (of course...)
2) rename it to [update.zip] and put it in the sdcard/nativeSD folder
3) run the nativeSDmultiboot app and go to tools -> update kernel
4) reboot IMMEDIATELY! (this is really important to avoid any force closes...)

Nice work m8.

Just a tip, maybe after we press the update button, the reboot could be automatic.
IE, after the kernel sucessfully updated, some kind of message "Your phone will now reboot." and after 2/3 seconds auto reboot, and if it fails for some reason a message with "Update failed, please check if you follow all the instrutions"

Something like this. Just a tip.

EDIT:

I'm geting errors, and the kernel flash fails.
Anyone sucessfull update the kernel with the app?

no luck here trying to update kernel on MIUIJB nativeSD booting from WM (CLRCAD+HARET), the screen show error messages in every step and even the final message is updated kernel successfully, the kernel was not updated. One question please ... rom name has to changed in install.sh file, or using your apk it is not necessary? TIA

the problem is weird. how many bad blocks on his Nand flash ?

The NativeSD ROM will not touch the NAND but every time the NativeSD ROM boot up the NAND flash will be detected by the kernel, but it should not write anything to the NAND. I will check the NAND driver to confirm it.

It worked for me using magldr on cm10 nativeSD.
update.zip in nativeSD folder
No error messages apart from warning to reboot immediately.
The zip file contained "MIUIJB" in install.sh from previous install, so datagr has included this name changing script.

Nice job.

Try this:
Go to app, then go to switch, then click the running rom, then go to tools and try updating the kernel.
Also check please if the tytung zip has the same folders init with the kernel that you try to update.
The script that is executing is for tytung kernel so maybe that's the problem.

What rom do you use? This option works only to tytung 3.5 kernel.

---------- Post added at 07:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:40 PM ----------

Please post any kernel that you wish to update so I will add them in the app.
For now we have only tytung new kernel support.

Hi datagr,

I am using CM10 - Unofficial NativeSD (Kernel: 2.6.32-ics_tytung_HWA-r3.3_JB)...After reboot my wlan is not longer working...uh...

My next question would be: how could I repair my installation? Can I just reinstall the rom?
