KK 4.4.2: OpenVPN can't connect: TUN is missing

Used the same config with OpenVPN für Android by Arne Schwabe
code.google.com/p/ics-openvpn/ on Stock Rom and on KatKiss 4.3 - Worked like a charm.

Now Upgraded to KK 4.4.2 (#17) and I can't connect any more.
My last line in the log is: "Got unrecognized command>FATAL:ERROR: Cannot open TUN "

Seems that /DEV/TUN is missing in KK4.4.2

Here's the comment from the OpenVPN für Android developer:
"Try to reboot your device. If that does not work your ROM is broken."

So it must be an ROM Issue with KK 4.4.2 #17.

Any Ideas ?

I know sucks right? The only way I can get it to work is to restart the phone, but it only works for a little while until I get the TUN message. It's so annoying. Upgrading to 4.4 was the biggest mistake of my phone life. Please fix this someone!!!

OpenVPN...was flawless on 4.3. I'm either waiting for an avenue to downgrade back to 4.3 or for a fix on 4.4
