Is there anyone who got "Facebook Contact Sync" working? I was using HexSync. I remember it was working out of the box on a previous release...

using this rom in combination with the data to ext4 mod from ph03n!x and hwui blacklist mod I keep on getting force close of HWAsettings app. I allready create a folder data/local/hwui.deny.

What can I do?

thanks

This might have something to do with memory. Go to Settings | Apps and see how mich internal mmemory you have left. My experience is that when this drops below 6 or 7 MB I also get "invalid packet file" errors. Freeing up memory (by whatever means, either moving some more apps with Link2SD or unistalling) helps te get rid of the issue.

I am using the Link2SD app and my memory is up to 80 MB...but still the problem exists.!! I have read in forum for "Bad NAND Blocks" may my problem is connected with something like this?

Hi Tytung, this was an issue I had posted a while ago. While looking through logcat, I noticed something today:

The directory /data/data/com.android.contacts does not contain a folder called contacts in it. The few photos that are showing for contacts are from /data/datacom.android.providers.contacts/files/photos. I am not sure if you were able to find out why the photos work fine in Marc1706's kernel, but hope this information helps fixing this issue!
If I set a contact photo via phone manually, the photo is shown correctly.
If some contact photos are synced via Google, I cannot see the contact photos, and I also see the same log you provided.

The correct path is /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts because content:// is a Content Provider protocol which can be linked to different data source, for example, files or database.

I still don't know why some contact photos disappears.

You could install this down here thats works great. I think with bad blocks you will have to format the sd card, but read this thread down and get some ideas.

You are welcome buddy:) but as far as I know other roms, which sync contact photos have this apk integrated in the rom. I have read it some where in th forum. And tytung's rom lacks it...so it can be just it. And its not some extraneous solution, becuase that is a google app.
Anyway I will be glad to know if you find sth better.

Which app do you refer to? If it is Contact Photo Sync, it is not a Google app.

Any update to jellybean?

This question have been asked too many times and have been answered as well... Tytung is not going to release JB too soon since he is busy developing ICS.

There is a search option provided for both, XDA and this particular forum. It is always recommended to all to read through the forum instead hitting the reply/quick reply button and type.

Hwasettings / hwa deny

Two things:

1/ Hwasettings doesn't show apps that were installed after it was first used.

2/ I have looked, but can't find any information on which apps benefit from having hwa denied.

Any information?

Thanks.

I made a patch to enable the hwui blacklist. this patch can only be used on NexusHD2 v2.6!! Other ROMs CAN'T flash it!!!!
View attachment 1283297

I have included the HwaSettings.apk , the details you can refer to that thread.

the test results is very good.

1/ Sorry, I've tested this and newly installed apps don't show. It's mentioned elsewhere on XDA and the only advice is to delete hwasettings data so it will rebuild the list.

2/ I had already read what Securecrt had linked. It doesn't provide any answers.

Anyone else?

1) yes it does. the search function is a bit flawed so you have to look through the list yourself
2)securecrt already mentioned a link in his post hwa setting, apk

1) it does for me ... i just tried with chrome . if its a known problem it will probably get fixed in the next release
2) it does . deselect the packages according to dev's hwui.deny folder

Basically this is an app to add files in /data/local/hwui.deny folder, so that the corresponding package is denied hwui. Usage : Just untick the apps that you want hwui denied. (you should be using atleast http://defy.wdscript.fr/defy-cm9/CM9...20710-Defy.zip)

Basicaly you can deny hwui to any app that targets API 10 or below, any app that uses Holo.Light theme(Eg: Gmail : No gradient needed, but you have to be carefull because apps like Google+ and Github relies on hwui for animations/effects) or any app that doesn't have a UI.

Please note that this app is in beta phase and is only for the use of developers. Don't install it if you don't know what you're doing.
