I don't know. I have a ton of stuff on the go right now (my poor site hasn't been updated in a month).

I haven't found many issues or things I want to change with RC4 so if I did release a RC5 it would probably be final and it would only have a few minor changes. The biggest annoyance for me is that the Fn key seems to stick for one extra character, but I'm not sure how to fix that. A different SIP would correct the problem, but I like this one. :(

Just throwing in a thanks, had some odd issues with Dark's ROM and basically wanted something stripped down as I only ever use this as a basic phone. Much appreciated!

How do I extract it if there is no All Users folder on my computer? I tried extracting it to the user I am logged in under but it still goes to download the update anyways! :S

Hey, anyone else having issues with picture text?

Tried sending an MMS and was told they got the text but not the picture, and another person tried to send me one and it never came in but their text did.

I just flashed RC4 yesterday and very excited about it because it's just what I needed as it's very smooth.... "Fresh Coffee" - nice doublearon.

But furthermore I'm more excited about the final RC5 due to the MMS support. I noticed last night that I'm also experiencing the same issue where I'm not receiving any MMS messages.

My question to you TrueG would be if you may have an estimated time frame on it's release?

In the meantime, what could be the quick fix, the 3rd party solution that you were referring to?

This works fine for MMS if you know your carriers MMS settings (they may also be posted here on XDA).

http://www.xda-developers.com/windows-mobile/arcsoft-5-2-8-45-qvgawvgavga-gsm-or-cdma-hybrid/

I never use MMS (costs me 50 cents per message), so I've never been in a hurry to add it (also since it requires 3rd party software).

I've been busy with a ton of stuff lately, including a new ROM for the LG Fathom. The method of flashing is tricky and requires hacked software so I'm not sure how to go about releasing it (spocky made it all happen). Between that, riding my motorcycle (practicing for driving test), Karate, 2nd job and family obligations I'm stretched a little thin. :(

Thanks for the suggestion. Haven't had a chance to test it out, but I did install it and I'll report back later.

I wasn't sure if it would work, I sent out the picture form the camera app, but when looking at the actual text, there was no option to insert anything. I don't send to many, but it is a nice option to have.

Thank You TrueG - This is amazing

TrueG - I really hated this phone (GW825) and I suspect I bought it at the very end of it's lifespan as they announced the Windows 7 phones less than a month after I got this.

I ran your update and all I can say is that you've completely reinvigorated my phone. So far I have zero issues with the update. It seems to work flawlessly - and what I'm loving especially is that you've built it to not need the stylus - as my stylus broke within a few months of owning the phone (very cheaply made).

I can't thank you enough for helping me ride out my contract in a much more civilized manor - and if you're still developing this at all - I'll definitely try RC5 when it's ready.

Cheers! Don in Canada.

ADo I have to do anything special to get activesync via bluetooth to work? I was synced on stock ROM but with this rom the activesync always fails. The only thing I find different is in this ROM i get many options for bluetooth services whereas in stock rom there was no choice as far as I can remember.

After a couple failures i selected activesync service only, and in WMDC allowed connection via "bluetooth", still no luck. I think it's selecting wrong port but not sure how to fix it. On my PC activesync doesn't show up in the list of services available on the phone.

EDIT: And TrueG, thanks for following up on the other thread even after it's been so long. I have researched android and WP7 enough to only come back to WM6.5 as my second device. And this ROM totally makes it worthwhile. lack of options on WP7 and fragmentation on android are something i don't need to deal with.

Well as far as I can remember there wasn't a problem, but it's been almost a year since I used my eXpo and 6 months since I have used Windows Mobile.

Hopefully someone else can comment on if it works for them or not. Worst case, I do still have my eXpo, but not a whole lot of free time to test it.

OK, one more issue. after a couple complete drains overnight, I set my phone to turn off in a minute of inctivity whether on power or battery. but I have observed sometimes my phone wakes up and never goes back to sleep until I press the off button.

1. is there a utility to find out what's waking up my phone, some kind of a log?
2. what could prevent it from shutting off after a minute?

I have installed following things that run at startup, and suspect one of them.

AMEBA,
AEBPLUS,
autocall recorder
MSAUDODATACONFIG - was already there I guess
CYBERON VC
POUTLOOK - was already there.
QUICKMENU (will get rid of it soon, not much value)
SDDAEMON (part of voice commander i think)

I have set weather to update only after 6 hrs (can't set it to manual update). All mail accounts are on manual update.

    sshot002-1.png
    RC4-1.png

    Release Candidate 4

    - I'm open to suggestions for a new name.

    Anyway, here are the details....

    Code:
    RC1

    OEM
    - OEMBT from VS750 v5
    - OEMDrivers from GW825V (cleaned up, more can be done)
    - OEMDriversHigh from GW825V
    - OEMMisc (heavily cleaned up, base files from GW820G)
    - OEM_DPI_192 (empty)
    - OEM_Lang_0409 (cleaned up, initflashfiles.dat could use some more work)
    - PACKAGE_Monaco_AdobePDF (2.5.0.0 / 1.0.404840)
    - PACKAGE_Monaco_AutoTimeUpdate (Syncs to time zone, does not notify)
    - PACKAGE_Monaco_ButtonConfig (custom button config)
    - PACKAGE_Monaco_Camera (missing some files)
    - PACKAGE_Monaco_InvokeSIMMgr (from HTC)
    - PACKAGE_Monaco_OEMDialer (stock MS dialer with proximity sensor support)
    - PACKAGE_Monaco_RotateManager
    - PACKAGE_Monaco_Settings (Power.exe & SensorSettings.exe from VS750, Bandprop.cpl from GW825V)
    - PACKAGE_Monaco_Shared
    - PACKAGE_Monaco_Shutdown (stock shutdown animation)
    - PACKAGE_Monaco_SIM_Mgr (from HTC)
    - PACKAGE_Monaco_TaskManager_v3_1 (still v3.1, don't like newest version)

    XIP
    - MSXIP from 23127
    - OEMXIP from GW825V
    - WinCENLS from GW820G

    SYS
    - Stock 23127
    - added ADC
    - added RemoteDesktopMobile from 23127
    - added Transcriber from 21913
    - added VoiceCommand from 21913

This ROM is based off the official GW825V release, so there are a few Chinese surprises here and there (like when you charge the phone while off).

I based it off of the GW825V because somehow it offers around 7MB of extra storage and program memory (as seen above).

electricbug, to restore the ability to use the front camera, I believe you only need LGCamera.exe & LGCamera.swf from the original GW825V ROM.

I have attached them to this post if you want to test my theory.

Any feedback? I've noticed that only a few people have downloaded it. Maybe everyone has already moved on to Android and Windows 7? :(
