Not working
After installing on Glazed ICS V1.1.1 (3.1.10-Motley+), my N7 has many issues. I now have to resort to reflashing my N7.
Issues:
Rebooted 4x & issues continued.

Issues:
- Random rebooting
- All YouTube video "error: problem with playback"
- Video playback is choppy (avi, mkv, mp4) using Dice and MX Player
- Lost all audio after switching DSP manager to Audio Manager. No sounds for anything.
Rebooted 4x & issues continued.
Well, I apologize for the previous build, But I've uploaded a new one and will add the changelog shortly.
Build2 as promised. And as always, PRACTICE nandroid backups, this should work without issues but on the safer side. Keep a recent one regardless! Download can be found in the OP

-Removed all traces of alsa (I felt this is what caused the tablet to go crazy)
-Added libs based more on Nexus 7 than general build.
-Added Apollo (Works best with DSP Manager added to build)

Still a long way towards improvement
these are just baby steps considering the N7 is pretty new and I'm still learning about what makes it tick. I'll improve the mod pretty soon. Feels about a good 60% fixed. I guess there's still more to come. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Named this as Beta2B as this doesn't pose a threat but ofcourse, to avoid delay. Herp Derp, This should work as promised Do let me know if it works. Will end up deleting this in 48hrs so I do hope you grab this.

I flashed this yesterday and then last night realized some youtube videos wouldn't play right. I chalked it up to something int he PA ROM I'm running.
Misledz, are you working on an "official Beta3" or sometihng if the youtube fixes work if you're pulling the Beta2B update?
I'm going to flash this update tonight when I get home and report on whether the youtube fix works. I may restore the NAND backup prior to flashing the Beta2 to see if youtube works again.
Yeah more or less the beta 3 would be the youtube fix. I'll be frank, i dont have the Nexus 7, everything I'm doing is generated and tested via emulator, and so far I've been testing it on tabs of friends. But regardless doesn't stop me from getting this to work 100%!
That would be great and much help man, and yeah the 2B is just one of those hot fixes, if it works then ill rework it again and upload the beta 3 to the OP

I just dirty flashed your beta2B over the beta2 build and it seems the problem persist. Here is the logcat for beta2Hd and another logcat for when videos are play just fine in HQ. Right now I'm restoring my clean back up and I am going to install your beta2B on clean install and I'll report back.

That was pretty damned fast, Thank good too, I would have QQ'd if I found out that the audioflinger.so caused the issue as the audioflinger.so is an edited version with a massive volume boost, safe but crisp.

What This Mod Does:
Nexus devices have pitifully low volume. Previous fixes like the Volume+ app and Franco's app only increased the volume on music playback, or in the headphones, but did nothing for in-call volume or notifications.
This mod changes all that. It will increase ALL volume, across the entire phone: ringtone, music, notifications, loudspeaker sound, ear speaker sound, in-call volume, and headset.
Requirements:
-Rooted.
-Custom recovery like CWM or TWRP.
-Jellybean Deodexed OR Odexed.
-Custom kernel with high quality audio tweak enabled is recommended (e.g. Franco or Trinity or AK).
-Nandroid Backup, I implore people to have at least one recent one as this method is faster.
Compatible With :
-Galaxy Nexus, Kindle Fire (reported), also Nexus 7.
-Universal for all kernels and ROMs.
-All major players, including: Google Music, Noozy, PowerAMP (see note below), Apollo, PlayerPRO.
Note on PowerAMP - To allow PowerAMP to be controlled by external DSP/EQ you must disable Direct Volume Control under Audio Tweaks in Settings.
Installation:
*Revert previously installed patch as necessary.
1. Copy zip to Internal Storage
2. Boot to custom recovery
3. Install zip from sdcard
4. Reboot
5. Choose EIZO ReWire PRO under Settings > Sound > Music Effects
Note: If you do not have the "Music Effects" submenu then EIZO should be enabled by default since it's the only DSP present.
FAQ:
What you should do:
- Configure EIZO, Select it in Music Effects.
- Refer to the Op for EIZO settings.
- Practice tuning your own values. EVERY user has their own listening experience. What sounds good to one and not the other doesn't become the fault of the MOD.
- Keep backups of your Alsa Mixer if you use call recording BEFORE flashing this MOD
- Keep backups (The revert is safe) but I am not responsible for loops if you flash this on another device.
- Flash the MOD after every ROM flash. Not necessarily kernel flash.
- Search if your ROM has been mentioned. KEYWORDS are a must. Example is 'PA works' and the results will be displayed. If not feel free to ask and I shall assist you.
What you shouldn't do:
- Test the loudness via Settings. There is an implemented system limiter so you can't tell the difference. Call yourself or sms yourself so you can know the difference.
- Complain of distortion without testing your own values. I've set a recommend layout in the OP hoping it's to give you an idea.
- Error 7, Error 7 is a halt procedure. Please debug the error and see what's written before saying Error 7 only.
- Alternate flashing. (I know some of you prefer to flash the Gnexus mod on the N7 but doing so breaks the media codes, if you have the patience to swap the media codes in etc folder of the N7 then it's fine)
- Don't use Noozy lockscreen controls, they're unreliable till a new app is remade.
- Don't use compression in EIZO. Causes massive volume fluctuations as it was set to be an AVLS.

Word to the wise, In order for the DSP's to kick in, 4.3 has made some security changes where it won't just run in the background, For EIZO & Beats to kick in, you need to launch the app manually after selecting it from Music->Effects, proceed to GMusic or App of choice, followed by going to the EQ settings from the music app, and change the settings. When changing DSP's from one to another, completely close out the app from the Multi-tasking menu, and notification bar (Best if you FC it from App Info) then change DSP in Music->Effects Settings and finally relaunch the app, making your changes in the EQ.30Hey, not sure if we've been talking much about Noozxoide EIZO-Rewire Pro EQ over here yet or not, but sweet jesus did it ever fix the rumble/distortion on my speakers. This is just using EIZO, not the louder patch so you might have to further adjust if you're trying to use both. Personally I find the N7 speaker volume just fine, nowhere near as bad as the GN; the distortion was the problem.
My settings are as follows:
- XLimiter enabled, compression strength "Hard";
- Psychoacoustic disabled;
- X-EQ enabled, frequencies at -1.0, -2.5, -5.5, -2.5, -1.0;
- VE-Engine disabled;
- Logicsurround ES enabled, room size "Studio".
When I first got my N7 I noticed the rumble. I tried prying open my case and push down on the speakers as per the OP of the Speaker Issues thread, but there was no popping or snapping into place.. So I figured there must also be a bit of resonance we have to deal with to avoid the distortion/rumbling, and now we finally have a nice EQ to help.:good:19New build out, V3B8
- More loudness on speaker (safe)
- Improvements with lib system, increased loudness where necessary. Speakers without much reliance to EIZO.
- Replaced violent libs with more low tuned ones, this should lower static but at the expense of music experience, if you face static issues do let me know.
- Updated libs for CM, Beats, XLouder
- Improved stability on higher volumes and feedback
- Configure EIZO, Select it in Music Effects.
