I just reflashed the ROM from scratch. Then I went in to ctreate a test backup. Here is what I see when I attempt to make a backup on my external sd.

  • backing up boot image...
  • backup of boot image complete...
  • backing up recovery image...
  • backup of recovery image complete...
  • backing up system...
  • backinf up of systemn complete...
  • backing up data...
  • backing up of data complete...
  • no /sdcard/ .android_secure found. skipping backup of applications on external storage
  • .
  • backing up cache...
  • backing up of cache complete...
  • no external sd-ext found. skipping backup of sd-ext.
  • generating MD5 sum...


When I try and backup on the internal sd here is what I get.


  • backing up boot image...
  • backup of boot image complete...
  • backing up recovery image...
  • backup of recovery image complete...
  • backing up system...
  • error while making backup image of /system

Any suggestions on what might be going on here?

The issue was that there was not enough space. Thanks for the help on that.

I ended up trying a few different roms - Illusion and PAC Man. I like Redemption a bit more so decided to go back. I did a full wipe via cloclwork mod recovery, then I wiped cash partition and then Dalvick. Not sure if I needed to but I also went into mount/storage and did format/cache, format/system, format/data. However, I have done that before with no problems.

Here is the problem. Re-installed Redemption, went through all the selection steps in Aroma... Rebooted and I saw the Samsung logo and then the screen just goes blank, but the device does not turn off.

???? How ****ed am I ????

Issue resolved. I used an older backup. Older than I wanted to but everything booted right up.

Keep popping back here to check progress, Redemption was the first Custom Rom I flashed on my N8010, you always remember your first;).....ahh the good old days.

We are still here. I ran into issues with both my phone rom and this I gotta work out. I also have to fix some theming since we are no longer TN.

    Welcome to Redemption Rom for the Galaxy Note 10.1​



    Currently Redemption is currently based on XXCME2 firmware which was for the 8000, but since v2.0 is now supporting the 8000, 8010 and the 8013. Flash this at your own risk and understand that you are liable to any side effects that may come from flashing this. This is now different than any other warning on any custom rom. It is completely stable and safe to use as long as you know what you are doing.

    How to install..
    Download rom
    Get into recovery
    Full wipe if coming from another rom
    Choose Options in Aroma, stock kernel for selected device will be automatically installed.
    You should wipe cache and dalvik manually, my script no longer does it.
    Allow tab to reboot.

    Okay everyone v6.0 is getting pretty close. I have updated base to cmd2 and also updated aroma which has seemed to take care of the install issues. I have a few more bugs to work out and I got to get more goods jam packed in the baby. Also redemption will now feature the updater that will house many mods, addons, themes and fixes which I can update and you will see the changes and new items right away. I'm pretty stoked about this release as I hope you are as well. I am going to do my best to make sure all bugs are worked out. Huge thanks to all members of team nocturnal for bringing me on and allowing me to use your updater and goodness app. I really hope to set this free tomorrow night but if not Monday night for sure.

    Q- will this work on my N80XX?
    A-I am not sure on which devices this will work for as I only have the 8013 and pretty much only build and test for what I own. Well actually since v2.0 I now support N8000 and N8010 as well as N8013, all in one zip.

    Q- Can you add ________________ feature please?
    A-Pleas pm me feature requests and I can decide if it will benefit the Rom as a whole and more users. I dont really want to add a feature that only 2-3 people will use.

    Q-What kernel is included?
    A-As of right now only stock, hopefully this will change soon.

    Q-What recovery is the best to use?
    A-Im not really sure there is a best, the touch screen ones seem kinda wonky right now. I personally use this one and works flawlessly.http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=30816047

    Q-Are there any other fonts that we can install for more options?
    A-Yes and of the fonts form HERE work just fine and set the same as stock ones.
