Hey folks, so, with Kickstarter supposed to be out 2 days ago, I'm currently not sleeping until, well, forever...
utter! as you knew it, is no more... Never again will I/you have to hear "Welcome to utter!" - It drove me insane. This is the test version of utter! that will be linked to from Kickstarter. I wanted a version that demoed a few features, the ones that don't crash and needed to sort the UI out.
I've implemented my own shake function. It can be toggled from the inside the app. There is the option there to create a launcher shortcut too. utter! should automatically be assigned to long-press-search, assuming you have such a button...
Command list is in the app too!
TO-DO (in the short-term)
Deactivate shake detection when the screen goes off.
Get the voice-results overlay working again - it was causing the crashes.
Find some cool, matching icons for the initial app page.
Remove respawn and other recogniser error announcements.
Retain list position on rotation.
BUGS
The usual lag and loops with IVONA and SVOX... None with Google ICS voice...
If you don't have Google Earth installed, the 'fly to' function will crash. Need install prompt.
Let me know if you think the UI is ok for now? It's the best I can come up with being artistically disabled...
Would appreciate some gloves-off feedback, I can take it. Just need to know if you think this will be a sufficient demo that folks from Kickstarter can have a play with. There will be more features added over the next couple of days.
Thanks in advance!
Ps. You may have to uninstall your current version of utter! to install this one - perhaps.
Ok so honestly I really like the new UI you have implemented it is simple and easy to use and it doesn't need to be all that fancy I find it perfect!! For the shake to wake you have implemented it is way to easy to wake it there should be an option to change sensitivity. The command list really nice easy to use I like it! Other than that looking good everywhere else!
Edit: when I try to open some of my apps utter seems to stutters very badly! Its as if its trying to say it but can get it out and open the applications at the same time!
