I have rooted 3.2 on mine, but when I try to flash this update.zip I just get the Android with an Exclamation mark. update.zip is in the root and the zip file checks out fine. I am using a 4GB sdcard which is empty. Any one have a suggestion?
Has anyone who has upgraded from 3.2 to 3.2.1 feel it is worth the improvement overall? I read through the changelog but am curious as to actual feedback from users. Still on the fence about doing this. Thanks!
It fixed the headphone issue. That is the big one for me. Follow goofball2k's instructions and you are good to go. I found no need to factory reset after so no data loss. I only had an issue with the Gmail app, that is because I was using the version from ICS. I cleared the data to fix it. Then I pushed the ICS version again.
did you decrypt the update.zip file? look a couple of posts back for the decrypter url..

Not my instructions, lol
So it fixed the issue with headphones and speaker playing at the same time? That's a good thing.
Did you find battery life improved at all?
Although I do turn my wireless off via widget and it will drain about 1 percent an hour. I should test this with 3.2 and see if its the same
There is a wifi setting to disable the wifi on screen off unless plugged in to the wall charger, although Im not sure if it really works.
So far with my underclocking, and low light settings, plus using the above toggle, I've had the screen on for about 3 hours with 2days 6hrs of standby and 15% battery power remaining. Not too bad for that crappy little battery, sorry for being offtopic!

Make sure you copy the file to /mnt/external_sd (micro sd card)
DONT put on /mnt/sdcard this is your internal and needs to be in you micro SD card
I have a problem to perform the update.
First of all my configuration: Acer A100 (obviously), a 8 GB micro SD (fat32 formatted), the update.zip. I write from Italy so my Acer A100 has the Italian Rom.
I tried putting the update in the micro sd but every time I try to "hold the volume button close to the top power button first then press the POWER button." Android I see the green Android and then it stops, I see only a green Android with an exclamation point.
I downloaded the update (decrypted) three times on two different computers and I also realized with the decrypted version + the tool.
What's wrong?
Ps: my Acer A100 has no root

the Multiupload files both are corrupted after I download. Cant open or the tab give an error when trying to install to phone. Is this legit?
EDIT:
Ok so doing more googling I found the update.zip is encrypted by Acer. You will need to use this decrypting tool.
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1099673
Rename the original downloaded file from the multiupload link to just "update" or whatever you want to call it. The decrypter couldnt fine the file till I shortened the name. Open the decrypter and select "input". Look for the renamed zip file and press "Start". The output will be transferred to the same directory as the original but up to you if you want to change output directory. Somehow the decrypter slowed down my windows XP so I had to close everything but the decrypter. The new file will be called in my case "updatedecrypted.zip". Unzip the file and inside you will find a txt file, AMSS.zip, and an update.zip. This update.zip is what you want to copy to the root of your sd card.
So again to flash:
1. Turn off tablet
2. Hold the top volume button close to power button first then press the POWER button.
3. Wait for the text in the corner of the screen to show up so you know it's going to recovery.
4. Release both buttons.
5. You will see the green android with moving gears and progress bar on the bottom.
6. Sit and wait......
7. The progress bar will all of a sudden stop at about 85% of the way. DONT PANIC and DONT start holding the power button to reset it.
8. The progress bar will stay in that spot for about a minute then the tablet will reboot.
9. The tablet will be stuck at the "android" screen for a while (I think about 3 minutes) again dont panic and just wait. Eventually it will boot completely.
10. Now jump and down, scream and shout with joy that you are now on 3.2.1. Ofcourse you can always go to setting to confirm before you rejoice.
11. I would probably recommend doing factory reset.
12. Last but not least thank the appropriate people that provided the links and the decrypter.

Update: I was still able to root using terminal emulator.
