[LB/UBL] Root Your device with just an app!

Hi,

This thread may look like another massive how to root your device by downgrading and bla bla bla..... But I have found a new app/solution that will help you root your device!

What to do:
1: Go to this thread: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2783157 And download the application called TowelRoot.
2: Install the app and open it and press the button.
3: Phone will reboot within 15 seconds.
4: When rebooted your phone has root. To be sure you can download the app RootChecker from Play store

From here you have 2 ways to install a proper SuperUser app:
1: Install a custom recovery see: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2649923
2: Download the SU from here: http://download.chainfire.eu/447/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99r4.zip
3: Flash it via recovery

Or
1: Download the SU .zip (see above)
2: Put it on SD card and unzip it
3: Install the SU app and update the binaries Normal

From now on you have full root so you can install a custom recovery and run apps that need root.

FAQ:

Q: Will this work on my C5302 or C5306
A: Yes

Q: Do I lose my warranty
A: No, depends on the way the service center handels this. So to be sure you can reflash the stock rom to fully remove root (or unroot via SU app)

Q: Will this work on any ftf
A: Yes, it will work on all ftf with a kernel that has been build before 3 june (see towelroot thread)

Q: SOS my phone is bootlooping!

No only when you unlock the bootloader.

!! It will only work on kernels that are build before 3 june!

No you dont need recovery to flash SuperSU just put this http://download.chainfire.eu/447/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99r4.zip in your SD find the apk install it , open it choose normal on pop up message box, unistall towelroot app and voila perfect rooted phone.

My eyes died twice today

Anyways, works on C5302 .205 USA generic

And yeah u don't need to install recovery neither flash SU in recovery

Its a great find...and its good that its working for many people..
So finally we have a rooting procedure for LB running 4.3 fw..
It save a lot of hardwork haha.
Lb people will know..

For the people on LB if u have bootloop when mounting system partition install this Reboot Remount Fix

Edit- Add this in Op if found useful

Will do..

However you cannot install a SU app and update the binaries... This will fail! So if you want proper root with a managing app (SU) flash the .zip via recovery.

I updated the binaries normally when it ask it me and then I unistalled the Troot.
