I have noticed that Fugumod kernel gives screen yellow tint when compared with CM7 stock kernel. I have tried both V and N versions of Fugumod #101. Also in CM7, backlight effect is very good. Is there a way I can get White color as CM7 in Fugumod?

Probably.

I have noticed that screen is much brighter in CM7 stock. Select a brightness that fits you in setting, and screenb will be more vivid.

Something I like a lot from fugumod is a great number of tweaks I do not understand but enhance my phone, plus the ability to choose wheather to apply voodoo color or not (as with cpu undervolt - left to the user), resulting in a better battery life with little configuration. More brightness goes with shorter battery life.

Hi Nikademus, are you planning to make an RC1-version of the FuguMod kernel? As I don't like the "Champagne gold"-colours of the stock kernel and I made a perfect voodoo-colour profile, I'd love to use your v-kernel again...(and yes, I know that 103v probably works, but I prefer to stay in RC1-state :))

Well, really, use 103v, it's done to be for RC1.

The 103 doesn't seem to work with the latest kangly. Well atleast for me. Anyone can confirm? Will test with the nightly when it gets out.

EDIT: Ok, got it running somehow :p . After booting with the normal kernel , install of 103 was succesful only the flash right after the kangly in the same session was not working.

FuguMod is now available for CM7

You can get builds at http://fugumod.org/CM7_galaxysmtd/

    They are named CM7_FuguMod_xxxxx.zip

    Thanks
    Testing: Zurchpet, Pagot
    Boot logo: Virnik, Mothaat
    Initial packaging code: Zacharias.maladroit

    Proeminent features
    - tiny preempt RCU with RCU boost

    - short backlight timeout
    - various security fixes
    - overclocking/undervolting
    - interactive and tweaked smartassv2 governors (default is ondemand
    - updated wifi driver

    Daily builds
Those builds are made every day to sync for changes in CM7/CWM. Version number does not change if there is only a CM7 sync (no changes in the kernel itself), but you can see the time at which it has been built on the download page.

    Quadrant score
Quadrant score doesn't mean much, but you should be able to go over 2000.

    BLN
It works then standard way of CM7 with quiet hours, don't use FuguApp

Latest kernel doesn't boot (just in case that happens)
Don't panic, extract the zip of the former working one and flash boot.img as kernel with heimdall

    Front camera problems
Replace your old /system/lib/libcamera.so by this one: https://faramir.eriador.org/r/libcamera.so
Or use FadeFX update script: https://faramir.eriador.org/r/CM7_Camera_Update.zip

My clock is drifting, my RIL is slow to connect
Those are known bugs for versions between 1007 and 1068

    Does it work on MIUI?
It works on recent MIUI versions, however I am not testing it on MIUI myself. I haven't tried MIUI and I am not interested into it. Please don't send me any PM concerning MIUI, it will be ignored, instead look at MIUI forums.

Wifi doesn't work/ I cannot install new apps
issue "mount" and "dmesg" commands, if you see something like this:
    /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 on /data type ext4 (ro,nosuid,nodev,noatime,nodiratime,barrier=1,data =ordered,noauto_da_alloc)

    [ 11.424728] EXT4-fs error (device mmcblk0p2): ext4_init_inode_table:1282: comm ext4lazyinit: Something is wrong with group 0
    [ 11.424739] Used itable blocks: 35itable unused count: 0
    [ 11.424744]
    [ 11.425253] Aborting journal on device mmcblk0p2-8.
    [ 11.428673] EXT4-fs (mmcblk0p2): Remounting filesystem read-only
Then you have a corrupted ext4, make a titanium backup (do _NOT_ do a nand backup in recovery), factory reset, and restore.

System becomes slow or even freezes when there is almost no more memory
You are using one of the early 1800 releases, please upgrade to at least 1880

I have found something relatively interesting.
In CM7 code, the code to reduce power usage from the external SD when sleeping is not there. But it is in Samsung GB kernel.
When you flash gingerbread bootloaders, you will not consume energy on the external SD as it's not seen. That alone may explain the gain in consumption when idle.
So in r411, I added the code to put the external SD in power save mode.

I have changed kernel numbering to 3.0 since most 3.0 features are implemented.

    And 1383 is 2.6.37
