Shed, first off I just want to say thank you, to you and all the other devs who have a hand in this great project for all the hard work you have put into this ROM. I was on the verge of buying a new phone when I stumbled across this ROM. You have revived my Eris and defied all the experts that said the Eris cannot handle anything beyond Android 2.1. It is running much faster and smoother than when I bought it.

I couldn't agree anymore! I have been having frustrating problems with my eris and KaosFroyo v38 for awhile. Now this will get me by for the next few months while I wait for new phones to come out. :)

workshed, are you a musician? I thought I was the only one into dev'ing and music, and medicine and dance for that matter... ;)

Yes doki, I play guitar, drums, and some slap & pop Bass. My Band is looking for a singer that's a "good fit" atm, no luck yet lol.

We're called 'The Dead Last' and play groove metal, we still have an old myspace up with some older songs of a couple different singers. Just google The Dead Last if you wanna.

Okay. Just got off work. Epic thing happened. No, I didn't do the wireless tether again. However, I saw a dude with an Eris. I asked him how he liked it and he said, "It sucks." So I told him about GSB and XDA and he said he would love to check it out, so we have another potential convert on the way. :)

That's awesome isn't it? Good work SD42!

shed, flashed 2.0last night and exchange email doesn't seem to be syncing at all except on reboot. I've messed with every setting I can find and can't for the life of me figure out what's different between 1.81x and 1.9+. On 1.8.1 I'd have to reboot about once a day to keep things flowing but on 1.9+ I can only get email on reboot, afterthat it's as if it just doesn't try.

shoot me some ideas

I don't use exchange at all, so I'm not much help there. Did you backup a previous install of it and then restored that to this flash? If you did, I'd absolutely start over. You could try deleting the data cache for and redo... I'm not exactly sure what the issues is there, sorry. Seems to be hit or miss with that.

Have they upgraded exchange recently?

I just checked you guys out. I think you're pretty good. Just a question, what instruments do you play in the songs on MySpace?

I'm hearing a bit of Alice in Chains, maybe some Faith No More, WZ and Korn type stuff.

I like it.

This is an on and off issue with me. Exchange using Push is very flaky. I can actually get it working again by using Advanced Task Manager or some other app killer to kill the email app. I've noticed it seems to happen when switching from Wifi to 3G or vice-versa. I "fixed" it by switching it from Push to checking every ten minutes.

Either way, I hear NitroDesk Touchdown totally blows away the built-in exchange, and K9 mail is a better overall mail client. I've always hated the slow, buggy, and laggy internal email, so maybe it's the perfect opportunity to jump ship. :)

Not all Eris are Equal?

My Eris runs gsb 1.9 without any lag or FC to speak of. But my wifes wants to lag frequently or launcherpro lags quite often. They are both setup the same way. Any thoughts? Cpu is what shed set them. I have tried setting her min speed up but hasnt changed much. Even disabled jit on hers to see if that would help.

I double wiped and 3x dalvik. You know me (I think) and I'm a flash-over king but I totally wiped everything out this time. Very annoying and there has to be a fix in CM somewhere. Anyhoo, does C2C mess with Google's ability to remember apps? This is the first 100% clean install I've done since using C2C and it remembered NOTHING. I had to restore from an old Astro backup and then hit the market for the rest.... weird.

I refuse to pay for TD - WAY too expensive.

Well..I'm somewhat sad to say I'll be jumping ship to my newly eBayed DInc once it arrives. I couldn't resist the temptation. I'll be keeping my trust little Eris handy though. Never know when Ol' Faithful will come in handy ;).

Great work here Shed, keep it up. You're the only reason my Eris is still alive. I'm going to miss the dev community here. Here's to hoping Shed makes the move to DInc sometime soon ;).

Try changing her CPU Governor to "Performance" in the Cyanogen Mod Performance settings. Mine was laggy until I changed to Performance.

    As everyone should know...
    always nandroid backup before flashing anything...
    and know what you're doing...
    dev's are not responsible for your actions...

    Instructions ...
    || Boot in recovery...
    || Do a full wipe of data+dalvik...
    || Flash GSB...
    || REBOOT...
    || let phone settle for a bit, come back and setup...

    Yell out in joy, that our End of Life Eris has GB on it! :D

    THINGS TO NOTE:

    Gallery3D was removed in 4.5-Final because the ICS rotations added to the cm repos borked it.
    Please download & install QuickPic after flash if you want to view pictures.

    Do NOT flash gapps: it will remove Maps 5.2 and then you're on your own if the new Maps gives you problems.
    Google Search icon is missing: just apply the "ice cream san" theme in the app drawer.

    • added disable scrolling-cache
    • added custom carrier label
    • added ICS transitions
    • added improved scrolling cache [ported from ICS]

    v4.2 Fixes/Changes
    • No more LauncherPro: Until Fede updates LP, I am going with Go-launcher as stock. I'm sorry if this disappoints anyone.
    • Theme packages are on sdcard in "GSB-Extras" you must install them and then apply them both (1 is for the t-mobile ThemeChooser and 1 is for go-launcher)
    • Added Maps 5.2 to ROM: UPDATE AT YOUR OWN RISK, you could lose Maps function with newer updates.
    • Hard themed the lockscreen to look ICS-ish. NOTE: Phone slide lock has a white circle around it, I know, but I kind of like it :)
    • All theme credits besides the lockscreen jog dials (me) go to sonnysekhon & boykioy
