Some problems

Done Full wipe (data, cache, dalvik, /system, /preload) beforehand.

I9505, PhilZ Touch 5.11.2 - No bootanimation :(
After first run, rebooted it and I see only black screen now. No animation, no lockscreen - nothing.

Beta 4 combined with chronic 2.1 kernel is simply brilliant. So smooth so stable so battery friendly.

Awesome work slim team :)

Very nice ROM. I've been using PAC ROM for months and decided give a chance for Slim Beam cause I used that ROM in my older devices, S3, Xperia Play...

Talking about, Slim is still the fastest AOSP ROM in my opinion. I just change the kernel, put Faux one.

Battery life is little better than PAC, and this ROM offers very good customizations in general, maybe not so as PAC, but still great.

PIE here is more customizable, for example. And since PAC and PIE I don't know what's notification bar haha.. full screen always!

One thing that I miss here, maybe I didn't find the option.. is there anyway to do multi dpi per app, like hybrid property in PA?

Very very good work by Slim team. I'll give a chance here..! Thanks guys!

hi, anyone experience bad stuttering/lag in scrolling (Apex launcher) through screens, and even in-app options? on default kernel..

seems like everyone is using a separate kernel.. maybe I will give it a try..

overall, really good ROM with good customizations.. came from SlimBean S2 and look forward to have a good experience with SlimBean S4 too!

Hi,
For DPI per apps I use xposed framework, working pretty well, http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=
Give it a try it's a beta for 4.3 android but works well.

Anyone have any idea on the below issue ?

Most probably this is not a slim issue.
I had beta2, then 3 with philz 5.11.0. everything was ok.

Yesterday i installed cwm latest and then beta4, everything restored fine with titanbackp but i noticed one small issue that might had already before.

If i power off the device then the bootlogo freezes and i have to press power on again to reboot again and then i see Slimrom logo and everything works ok. In case of reboot the issues is not observed.

Any idea ? i remember read that sometimes stock recovery tries to be reinstalled and you have to disable it ? i remember i did this first time when installed Philz. do i need to repeat this ?

The only recovery I've tested personally has been TWRP 2.5.0.2 and I haven't had any boot logo freezes or issues. If you're using other recoveries you're on your own.

i will downgrade to twrp 2.5.0.2 and post results.

i did flash latest cwm twice, been asked to disable stock recovery and boot logo is stuck and needs to reboot twice in order to boot into rom.

Use ONLY twrp 2.5.0.2. for now, the boot logo freeze problem with the need to reboot twice to get into the rom is now disappeared. :victory::victory::victory:

i can recommend 2.6.0.0 too, no issues with beta 3 or 4 ...

Again, I can only recommend 2.5.0.2 with jflte. In my 4 jflte 4.3 threads I've encountered dozens of people encountering everything from bootloops to corrupt data with 2.6.

The issue(s) seem to be random so just because person X doesn't suffer from them doesn't mean that person Y won't.

At the moment the team is very busy with the work on 4.4 , and sorting new team members, this is one of the reason why the last 4.3 build takes so long time.

I speak with two team member about this thread here and the I9505 Maintainer and the plan I will do this job ( thread/maintainer ) , at the moment they talk about it.

I have myself a few ideas and plans but I will wait for the official go. For now I have to wait myself but if anybody want to make a unofficial thread/rom I see no problem.

I do my best to support fast as I can and bring informations and I hope I can bring in the future a few of my ideas to the rom and to the XDA Thread/Community :)

I love slimrom , I love this thread, I really like the community in this thread , very great , friendly and nice guys here and I hope I can do more here in the future for all guys.

Please note these builds are under heavy development!

    Known issues
    • Headset in-call mic uses phone
    • HDR Camera mode may need improvements, but should at least work

    4.3 mini-FAQ
    • Q) I'm stuck at the boot logo and/or a boot loop!
    • A) Make sure you use TWRP 2.5.0.2. TWRP 2.6 and other recoveries can cause boot loops & hangups

    • Q) Root doesn't work!
    • A) From a clean build you need to enable root access for Superuser itself. This is different from 4.2.2 in which Superuser by default had root access on a new install. To do this, go to Settings -> Developer options -> Root access. If an app attempts to request root access before Superuser itself has access, it may cause problems with that app in the future where root requests are silently denied.

    • Q) Titanium Backup isn't restoring apps!
    • A) Change the backups folder to storage/emulated/legacy.

If you use Philz recovery 5.10.0 you must upgrade to 5.11.0 or you will lose radio!

Since the SGS4 is so new, development is happening very rapidly. This should be taken into consideration when flashing any 4.3 AOSP-based builds on the device. Known issues will be listed here.
