Playing around and wondering why we wouldn't want to remove the camera app from this rom? Same for the dialer or sound recorder or voice dialer.

I mean I guess that applies to any of these roms and, if this is a dumb question, please let me know.

To OP, bumping doncaruana's post here. Does it make any difference if we remove these from the system apps? Oh and by the way, you've done an awesome job on this ROM. It's very fast, stable and has very good battery life! I'm thinking of moving here (coming from using MiRaGe CM7.2) for now...until I see some more development breakthroughs on CM9 and CM10. The devs are working hard at it and I know that pretty soon we'll be able to get it. But until that time, I'll go ahead and settle for something that works. :)

I've got a question, though... why, upon flashing this ROM, did I lost my cyanoboot?

It's working for me, this is my primary source of development for MROM... anything in the way? like a firewall?

Running MROM off of SD. Won't run adb wireless. First time it eventually force closes. After that, I don't even get the green button, just a blank screen.

4 different SD installs (start to finish), 2 different NC. Also noticed I can't get es file explorer to get root privileges.

These are straight installs - I didn't even play around with removing the files I mentioned earlier.

No firewall - works fine on all my other devices (other Nook CM, etc)

I gotta say, the install is VERY nice; doubly soo with nook tweaks & setting the buffer to 16bit...

This is how the nook should perfrom.

I used System App Remover to remove "Camera.apk", "VoiceDialer.apk", "telephony Provider.apk" but when I got to "phone.apk" it would not
remove it. I just left it and rebooted. Tried again but it would not remove.

Cyanogen supports moving applications to the sd card. I believe it's in the settings...

Let's remember that 7.2 is still a phone release, they phone app is required for proper functionality, the next release they camera apps will be removed...

Just wanted to say thanks for a great rom. Between switching to this rom and moving everything from external to internal sdcard, my nook has never run this smooth. Thanks again for putting this together.

So it's been a while since I posted at XDA for any reason at all. So I tried this rom out since mirage is kind of slow, and CM9 isn't usable enough for me yet. It's fast and works extremely well. But I had a few issues. The first one was the file manager would not see anything but folders, the second is my USB mounting would activate but my computer would never register it then my nook would unactivate USB mounting. I could not fix it at all.

I had some of the same issues. I'm running the 0923 CM7 nightly with the extra stuff I don't use removed. Running nicely.

First off, great work. Its fast, stable and cosmetically attractive. I have only one issue: on dualboot setups it seems emmc and sdcard partitions are switched. I did not have this issue installing stockcm7 so I think it may just be your mountpoints. Again thanks for the work. I am impressed and hope to see more from you. Don't care too much about this issue, just thought you'd like to know.

There is a fix for that in post #27 if you need to use it.

So far so good for me, I get a glitch every once in a while when I try to use sleep mode, it blinks off then comes back on again.
Only happens maybe 2 out of 6 times.
Also, is the main home screen supposed to auto rotate? Mine does not, just wondering if I have a setting wrong. Every other app rotates as it should.
Thanks again! :D

Settings > Display > Check Auto-rotate screen. You can also select which degrees your accelerometer would change it to (0, 90, 180 270 degrees) under MROM > Display > Accelerometer Rotation. Just put a check on the boxes you want. ;)

That didn't work for me. :( And I've installed in emmc! Should it be backwards if it was an emmc install?

I have to agree with this being the best Rom ever for the nook. its so much faster and smoother than any other rom out there and I can use YouTube and Netflix without issues and workarounds. I have been on it for 4 days and not a single issue to complain about. But really can we complain about ROMs that are being built for us by these developers? Any ROM for the nook is great but this does get 2 thumbs up!!

Introducing MROM-encore. Custom ROM for the B&N NOOK Color

Free Yourself and Feel the Difference

This is my attempt to build a stable, complete, and fully functional custom ROM for the B&N NOOK Color completely built from source code; MROM-encore is built on top of Cyanogen ROM latest source code. I recompiled all components to guarantee maximum efficiency and performance. Along the way, I realized that I needed things to work different for the B&N NOOK Color, so I also made some changes. If you like my work, consider a donation to my cause.

MROM-encore is entirely build from source. You will see the difference when you run it. Just to list a few features:
    • Entire ROM and Kernel are compiled and optimized with Linaro toolchain 4.7
    • Superior Performance. (User benchmarks have reported excellent performance)
    • Excellent battery life
    • Multi-User Enabled
    • Contains all the most common tweaks
    • QuickPic gallery application

While I tried to maintain the main core small, size is not the main focus.

Before posting negative comments about the ROM. Browse the thread and the FAQ. http://www.montuori.net/android-mrom/mrom-faq-2/

    Requirements:
    • Clockworkmod or compatible recovery
    • B&N NOOK Color

    • Clean dalvik cache
    • Install MROM-encore zip file
    • Boot the device
    • Reboot in recovery and install Google Apps (this is required to avoid the home and search button not working)
    • If applicable, re-apply the addon package
    • Reboot
    • 1st reboot takes a little longer

Personally, i think cm9 is stable enough to be a daily driver

The first comment I get is negative and shuts me down... It's fine, if you think that way, however, this particular ROM has been very successful for both the Atrix and the HTC Incredible 2. Before you slam down something, you should try it first...
