Worst guide ever seen on this Forum

This is what you have to do:

Between step 1 and 2 you have to create a gold card.
It works like this:
Open goldcardtool.exe (if it's not opened by itself after step 1)
Get the CID
Klick the link - fill the form - download the img file - so far very easy
Now! Take the card out of your device and attch it to your computer with a cardreader! Find your card, load the img, patch the card then put it back into the phone!

This information should be part of the so called guide...

Good luck.

Hi everyone,

I tried to use GoldCard tool in order to do whatever you've said to me.
Downloaded the img file, put the phone into disk drive mode and selected it via the HTC MMC combo box. After clicking on Match MMC I get the following error:

An error occurred Object Reference not set to an instance of an object.

Please help me :(

Thanks

No you're already rooted and s'off, there's no need.

Does anyone have an alternative link to the package in Post #1 that is required for this process. Multi upload is inaccessible and I badly need to get my phone back to HBoot 1.01.0001 somehow. Thanks..

Although I have respect and give thanks to the original poster, I have found the instructions in this thread not very clear at all.
I just couldn't get it to work after trying many times over about four hours.

But I have found this video on youtube that explains it much better and includes the relevant files needed. Worked for me first time.
I hope this helps somebody.

What's the procedure for already unlocked phone

Hi,

I have an unlocked HTC Wildfire (not associated with any carrier).
How can I downgrade it from HBOOT 1.01.0002 to HBOOT 1.01.0001.

Do I still need to do the gold card step? (since it is already unlocked).
Can I downgrade my HBOOT without generating the gold card.

I tried running step2.bat directly, without running step1.bat first and without the the gold card. It exited with the error "custom id check fail" as expected.

Is there any way to bypass this gold card generation step and downgrade my HBOOT?

Thanks,

On second thought, I just followed both steps: 1 and 2 and got it done successfully.
Thanks for this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ACzNklvg3M&feature=youtu.be posted earlier in the thread by adnansami80.. I just followed the link and it worked for me

    Hi.

Lots of people seem to be having issues when trying to downgrade their Wildfire from a carrier-branded version (HBOOT 1.01.0002) to unbranded WWE (HBOOT 1.01.0001).

I made a small package to help you do this.

    http://www.mediafire.com/?adny69lbvzbs1yg

Extract this package somewhere you can find it, like C:\buzzdowngrade

    • Step 1: run step1.bat from the package. This will downgrade your MISC partition to allow for the RUU downgrade.

At the end, GoldCardTool will start up, to allow you to create a goldcard which you will need before starting Step 2.

After you've made the goldcard, and inserted it, continue with step 2.

    • Step 2: run step2.bat from the package. This will downgrade your ROM version to HTC WWE Froyo for Wildfire (unbranded).

If you get a Customer ID error while doing this, your goldcard is not working!
      Create a new goldcard and re-run step2.

      Step 1.2 : Click "Open Revskills.de"
Step 1.3 : Fill the form enter your CID and Click Generate Goldcard.
Step 1.4 : You will get your Goldcard via an email. Save the goldgard somewhere, like C:\buzzdowngrade
Step 1.5 : Put your phone as a disc drive mode from usb
Step 1.6 : IN golcard tool, at the MMC Tool section, you must see your SD Card.
Step 1.7: Click Load Goldcard.img then find the goldcard image you have just received.
Step 1.8 : Click Patch MMC.
, to allow you to create a goldcard which you will need before starting Step 2.

After you've made the goldcard, and inserted it, continue with step 2.

If you get a Customer ID error while doing this, your goldcard is not working!
      Create a new goldcard and re-run step2.

Go there to downgroad http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2404232 and for the rest, to root, go to the HTC dev website or alpharex.

it gives error because the commands in the bat file are unknown for my os it gives
'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file so what i can do to fix this problem
note: my os is windows 7 32 bit version

    install adb?...

Well I must be missing something as I cannot get root!

I thought S-off was essentially completley different to root!

What do I need to do to get to HBoot .01.0001 from .002 ??

It never used to be so much hasstle with the older HTC's

Think I may go back to my HD2. Big n Bulky but reliable and easy to flash..

Now as you said that yr device is S-OFF. follow the steps in given link and then u will be rooted, after that u can flash any custom rom
