Hi, I was lead here regarding the plurals problem for GMail for my own themed GMail app.
Anyway, I noticed something that in the themed GMail you have that was causing me some headache
In the Recipients Editor the name of the recipient would be black... when this was on a dark background it was hard to read. After some messing around I found some smali code to change this
If you open up:
Code:\smali\com\android\ex\chips\RecipientEditTextView.smali
and search for this string:
Code:0x106000b
It should appear twice. This is the colour reference/ID for black. Change it to any public.xml ID for the colour you wish. For instance I used this to make it white:
Code:<public type="color" name="light_text_color" id="0x7f0a0012" />
The the attached picture for what it will look like.
I just wanted to give something back This exact method works for the AOSP MMS apk too, except you look for:Code:0x106000c
I could use some help with it. I tried running the perl command (I have Perl installed properly), but it doesn't work... so as a stop-gap solution I just removed the bold HTML <b> and </b> parts of the plurals which works nicely.
I tried first, copying the plurals from your version, but that didn't solve it. So I did the above!
Looks like you did a similar thinghttp://db.tt/tLktxaI7
Use a tool to compare the decompiled apks. (I use "meld diff viewer" on my Linux machines)
The Perl command is not working for all files on the newer version of Gmail.
Let me know if I can help you with something else.
Sent with a JellyBlack HTC One X
As mentioned in the ICJ thread it appears the latest version of Jelly Black causes the Google Calendar App to keep stopping. I can't open it however on System and Jelly Blue on 3.2 everything works fine.
