Can i use kanity v2 with jvh

i like ur roms but i cant fix Android OS drain bug maybe jvh be a solution for me

i installed CF's ext4 utility and converted all FS to ext4.
result: i got bootloops, but strange ones. Phone would boot up ok, live for a minute or so and then reboots on its own.

Converted back from ext4, uninstalled the ext4 app and now it's all good again.
Anyone have an idea what's up with this?

I installed stock JVB, then CF's 3.1 JVB kernel, then insanity v8.3 from CWM.

same here! constant reboots after aroud 30sec to 1 min...and after a call it instant bsod

Not working for me!

Hi all!

I installed the ROM but it's not working for me.

This is the first time I try a custom ROM, so I'llpost my status and hope somebody helps me!

I got the stock 2.2 ROM, but I have already downgraded my recovery from 3e to 2e and successfully and ran CWM Recovery (2.5.1.2). I didn't follow the instructions for the EZBase ROM as I understand that the purpose for that is just being able to downgrade the recovery and run CWM (which I do successfully).

Within CWM, i installed the ZIP file from the first post and then the phone keeps rebooting forever (I allowed it to reboot about 10 times before giving up).

I have a GT-I9000.

Sems like you were on Froyo.

1) you have to upgrade to stock Gingerbread or use EZBase 3.0 (gingerbread based) and updgrade to gingerbread bootloaders
2) flash Insanity 8.x (gingerbread based)

is there anyway we can add extended menu ourselves?

I was looking over this link and the framework-res insanity use is different.

I wonder if nitr8 can give us a simple guide to tell us how to mod it and add the extended menu ourselves?

Yes same for me with the reboots so I went back to another ROM it could have been issues with the theme that I was using though.

One way to get extended menus is to flash a new theme that includes them or there is a free app called quickboot which does the job well.

I know, but I kinda like the extended menu, instead of another apps

on another note, anyone here use Tango?

It is an app that allow video chat over wifi/3g, however when used, my front facing camera is upside down.

Any idea if this is due to the app or the rom?

That was true.

That`s the main reason, the bootloaders, I think you`ve been reading in the wrong place. I still have made my mind up on which modem to try....there goes another tumble weed.....

hey.
You said kanity kernel was like speedmod with cf initramfs?
So MDNIE sharpness should be included?
I don't really notice that.. Am i the only one that finds not that sharp?

Right, I`m trying the JVO modem, I`ll give it til my battery runs out, first off nothing really different, GPS lock/signal/2,3G...I`ll give it a chance....was that a needle I heard drop?

Considering i entered plane mode before i went to sleep and when i woke up i had carrier signal , i guess there was at least 1 reboot overnight....so count me in too.

1.shut down your phone and take out the battery ( its important) , memory card and sim card if you can (just to be on the safe side)
2.wait for 5 mins and put all of these back and start your phone in recovery
3. wipe cache partition and dalvik cache in CWM
4. restart your phone and DOWNLOAD THE APPLICATION CALLED AUTOSTART ( it has a car icon)
(it is a payed one so don't be a tightass)
5.disable the bold applications from following list (as per Autostarts):

Maps:
- After Startup
- Application replaced
- Widget updating (Traffic)
- Widget updating (Latitude)
- Widget updating (Rate Places)

Software update:
- After Startup
- Application installed
- Application removed
- SMS received
- Secret Code entered (credit -- ceriko for autostarts thing )

6. go to settings applications and running services and kill SOFTWARE UPDATE , GMAIL ( if u r not using ) , MAPS AND NAVIGATION , MARKET , AND ALL OTHER except system apps
7. after applying the settings in autostarts as per point 6. , and following point 7 , restart your phone and see in running services that what apps are there running . if there are any unsued ( however after configuring autostatrs you will not see any that you have disabled )
8. now this is the time to re-callibrate your battery

I have the international i9000 samsung galaxy model and when in band selection (with secret code) under WCDMA band, it has 850 in it.

Contact your carrier. You should know if you have 850. It is known as the fastest. Usually Bell, Fido Telstra and maybe some others? It won't hurt to try any of the modems out. It's simple to try. You can always go back

Wayne. I am using Goatrip 1.9 JVH on my second SGS. I install Nitrality from the market but it is not in my app draw and it will not allow me to open from the market. The open area is shaded out

Morning all, well it might be to early but JVO drained the ****e out of my battery overnight.
I was some where at 80-70% ish, after 7 hours its at 15% with no wifi/2/3G.
I`ll charge it again and see how it does then if not good I`ll try JQ1.
