Turn off your phone, then turn on pressing the Vol Down (The lower vol button) and Power buttons simultaneously. This will take you to the bootloader mode. Refer the first line here, it should be something like BUZZ PVT SHIP 1.01.000x (Where 1.01.000x is your HBoot version, x=1 or 2)

I have Hboot x=1 , but impossible to root this stupid Wildfire , i try many solution ! Z4ROOT , VISIONary+ ...IM-PO-SSI-BLE !!!
I do your tips , the softroot is installed succefully , the same for superuser .. but when i want to launch softroot .. it crashed !

I agree with 3xeno, got S-OFF on my Wildfire first time with Revolutionary and nothing bricked or crashed and still working like a charm!
