Hope im not fouble posting, but I dont want to continue without knowing because I dont want to brick my phone.
So when you are running the nandroid backup at the start, do you use the recovery version for the hero you posted the link to, or one that was made for the magic?

You obviously didn't read the directions...
You need to start your phone in FASTBOOT mode, by holding Back and pressing Power.
If this still doesn't work then you don't have the FASTBOOT drivers installed properly and should get that sorted out first. Check in your Device Manager to see if there are any Unknown Devices when your phone is plugged in.
The first nandroid back is done using the default Sapphire-H recovery, then after the radio and SPL is flashed you need the Hero recovery.
So - NO - I'm really not an idiot...but for some reason, I decided to walk through all the steps in this thread again (except for the radio update because it was done already) - and now it all WORKED! The one extra step I took was wiping my SD card (which was a basic card with NO extra partitions and I have used it to flash dozens of other ROM's without an issue) and started from scratch with that too, just in case. Well, it worked!! I just installed the CursorSense 0.8 ROM successfully and it is booting now (nice Nexus boot screen BTW).
So - thanks for letting me vent and ask for help on this thread...it made me double and triple check a few things, and bam! I got through it.
As always - this forum and you guys are ridiculously amazing!

How did you wipe your SD card? When I try to do this in system recovery I get an error "Run 'wipe ext' via adb!". How can I do this?

This may sound stupid but does this let me run hero roms? Because i have a hero recovery so i assume that the radio and spl are compatable with hero roms? i'm probably totally off but thought it was worth a shot.

This Radio/SPL update makes the 32A magic almost identical to the Hero. There are some pretty major hardware differences though.
You can flash a Hero ROM onto your phone now, with these exceptions:
- wifi not working
- camera not working
- LED not working
- bluetooth not working
The wifi, camera and LED issues can be fixed through a kernel update. The CCR32A-0.2a (CursorSense) kernel addresses these issues. The bluetooth is an issue though. I'm working on it, but it'll take some time.
My goal in development is to be able to create a ROM that is universal to the Hero and the 32A Magic (6.35 radio). I'm close to this goal. I'll keep you all posted.
Until then, the only ROM that works with this radio/SPL combination is the CursorSense32A ROM. Make sure you try it out and give me some feedback!

Download Eng SPL 1.33.2005. Extract hboot.img from the zip file. Then flash the hboot using fastboot.

Next time be more careful. You could have seriously and permanently damaged your phone!

I downloaded & followed all the steps, and it seemed to work fine, but now when I try to reboot it it just goes on a continuous loop rebooting at the Rogers logo. I can load it straight into recovery, but I can't click anything once in there.
What do I do??

I thought I would start a separate thread for everyone to get the proper instructions on how to upgrade to the new 6.35 radio and 1.76.2007 SPL.
Too many people are confused on the directions for upgrading. I want people to be happy with modding their phones, not angry with me.
If followed exactly, these directions will help with the issue a lot of users are having.
THIS IS FOR 32A MAGIC/SAPPHIRE ONLY!!!

Notes:
- This Radio and SPL is only for the new Sense UI ROMs (CursorSense32A)
- The Hero recovery is required for the new radio. The Sapphire H (Magic 32A) recovery will reboot after a few seconds.
- To select items using the Hero recovery, you need to use the green Talk/Send key on your device. The trackball select key will not work.
Steps:
- Download the files above onto your computer. Save them in the same folder (C:\AndroidSDK\Tools for example)
- Turn off your phone
- Power it on into recovery (hold Home and press Power)
- Run a full nandroid backup (optional, but recommended)
- Turn off your phone
- Power it on into FASTBOOT mode by holding Back and pressing Power
- Plug in a USB cable. you should see FASTBOOT USB on the screen
- From a command prompt, navigate to the folder where you saved the files above.
- Type in these commands:
- Your phone will reboot back into FASTBOOT.Code:fastboot flash radio Radio_HTC_PVT_32A_6.35.10.18.img fastboot flash hboot hboot-1.76.2007.img fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-hero-v1.5.2.img fastboot erase system -w fastboot reboot-bootloader
- Verify that you now have the 6.35.10.18 Radio and 1.76.2007 SPL.
CONGRATULATIONS! You can now flash the CursorSense32A ROM!
There will be other ROMs soon that use this Radio and SPL. It's just a matter of time.
Upgrade from 6.35.07.29 to a new version
You can upgrade radio version from 6.35.07.29 to 6.35.08.29 or 6.35.10.18 without wiping, reflashing or losing any data.
- Download the radio image
6.35.08.29
6.35.10.18
- Save the radio update.zip file to the root of your SD card.
- Boot into Recovery mode, using Home and Power and apply the update like you would any other update.zip file.
Downgrade (Revert back to) 32A 3.22 Radio and SPL
You will need:
- 1.33.2010 Engineering SPL HBOOT image

I'm fairly familiar with rooting and radios just a little confused when it comes to this phone since it appears there are 3-5 slightly different models of it.

Thanks to ezterry's post http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=918438. I Finally resolved the crisis.
Here is what I did.
1. Used Goldcard and flashed sappimg.zip giving me 32B eng. S-OFF mode
2. Flashed Radio 2.22.28.25, Amon-RA-recovery (clockwork used to work, now it won't boot, for some odd reason)
3. Boot into recovery and install Yoshi 1.5 (for 32B) and auto-boot-2.6.35.14-farmatito-pershoot-ds+-20110802.zip (this installed ebi0 based kernel).
4. rebooted back into recovery
5. from recovery installed update.SPL_Original_1.33.0013-signed.zip
6. reboot into recovery (that should finish installing the SPL)
7. from recovery installed update-1_33_0013-to-1_33_0013d_S.zip
8. reboot into recovery, just to finish the SPL install and still be sure that recovery survived the process.
9. reboot into fastboot to check the radio and SPL.
10. reboot the device.
Works great now.
fastboot now reads
SPL/hboot version: 1.33.0013d.
Radio version: 2.22.28.25.
Main software version: 2.53.707.2.
cid: t-mob010.
cpld: 13.
product: sapphire.
mid: sapp31000.
security: on.
build-mode: ship.
Lessons learned:
1. Be eternally grateful to developers who put in so much effort into making all the stuff at XDA and other places available.
