NFC issue. Can I have a bit of help please? When I try to send contact to my SmoothROM 5.3 Nexus 7, I get the beep confirming connection but instead of transferring the data, the NFC on the N7 opens Google Play instead with a message saying the item could not be found. I was trying to share a contact and even tried it within the contact app. But it just won't work. Can someone please tell me what I could be doing wrong?

UPDATE: It seems like contact might be the only issue. Just beamed a photo from my HTC One to the N7 successfully. Could it be that the contact app I use does not support transfer by NFC ?

1. Try Faux's kernel - I work with it on v5.3 of the Rom and it's smooth in any nanoscopic aspect. :victory:
2. Try reinstalling FROM SCRATCH the rom using ONLY the kernels supplied with the rom.
don't worry too much about restoring application - you've got helpers like titanium backup etc.
Another friendly reminder. This rom DOES NOT INCLUDE DEVELOPER OPTIONS. Download developer options from the play store.
whenever aokp kitkat reaches almost stable and has enough features then the OP says he will update. I sooooooo wish he was on github cause then I could do a build of his 4.3 with aokp's final release with tabletui.......but his stuff is worth the wait.
Install Problem
I have an error when trying to install this rom, I have fully wiped everything except storage...
The error is -Checking Device ID...

Grouper is WiFi only tilapia is WiFi and 3g, not sure but if this ROM is for WiFi only and your is the 3g model then it won't work for that reason. Other than that I don't know what to suggest.

What recovery and version do you have installed? I had to downgrade to TWRP 2.6.3 to get this ROM to install.
I could not find it yet! Every place I go it is 2.6.3.1. same if you use goo in app.

Changes
Installation
If CWM ask you to 'Disable Recovery Flash' after install, select no ! It will remove the files needed for the init.d support.
Please do not restore a 'system' data backup as it would overwritte some important files
Easy Way
- Use JROMFlasher (Click here) to wipe your data, flash custom recovery, upload my ROM
Hard Way
- Require Custom Recovery
- Copy the ROM to the root of your SDCard (/sdcard).
- You can copy/paste it from Windows Explorer.
- You can download the ROM from your device. It will be generally located in /sdcard/downloads
- You can use ADB : 'adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/' for Windows and Mac/Linux : './adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/' - Boot into Recovery
- Wipe all cache and userdata
- Flash the ROM from custom Recovery

53SmoothROM v5.3 is under its way with Android 4.3 AOKP!
I have been working on it secretly since a while now! It works pretty flawless to me as today! There are very few bugs that should be fixed soon. I am not done merging SmoothdROM v5.2 optimisations and I also found new optimisations that could be done including a huge one
