Thanks for this little script, it worked without problems. Is it possible to change the version of busybox by myself with swapping the script?

Close all existing adb services (flashtool, pcc, seus)

Sent from my LT26i using XDA

I already make sure about it !
and even restart the computer checked the task manager for hidden tasks !
but still it stuck at * daemon started successfully *

Edit:
I just install the drivers(ADB drivers) in another PC and run the script,
but it stuck at the same point,
one thing I notice, when the wizard finished installing drivers, there are so many failed drivers (because of unsigned & some are irrelevant too, ie Samsung) does it have anything to do with my root failure ?

Look in the task manager. Sometimes there is an adb.exe running. Close it manually.

Hi there first of all thanks for your work it is great. But something i wanna ask for. I use android commander for install or uninstall system app or anything else but it needs root access. in GB it works fine but after ıcs and root from your program it didn't get root access and i can't do anything with it. you got any solutions for it... Thanks from now

finally rooted my device! i used my freshly installed Windows 8 developer preview without any software installed. Rooted under 1 minutes.. my windows 7 unable to root it, maybe because i have ADB for almost 10 devices. and when i rooting in windows 7, i can see in task manager, adb.exe is started and closed multiple time. there is even 3 adb.exe started simultaneously.. =_="" hope this helps others. my recommendation is, plz use a virgin windows without any adb installed. ;)

Nope :( still not successfully rooted !
I tried on the Virgin Windows XP, which i mentioned above (clean) but all I see in task manager is one Adb.exe service !
Will try in another computer (Win8) and let you know !
Edit:
OK, I did it in freshly installed Win7 with Neo driver selected only but after rooted, its become extremely Slow !

Hi !
Though the script worked fantastic for me since the beginning,
I already did it 3-4 times, and it went right at that time,
I had today to repair the phone with the official ICS, using PC Compagnon,
and the script refused to work.. Read-only system all the time.
Spent time on doing it 5 times today, different ways, different files, and so on..
Finally, I decided to edit the script and had securities to be sure the system
is mounted as Read/Write and that the phone itself is started completly.
You can see the script here : mediafire.com/?utb2b348u8q15xy
Yeah, though I'm registered to xda since December 2009,
it seams I never posted or my posts got deleted with time,
so you'll have to complete the URL, securities.. ^^

I'm not saying it's perfect and should be so by default,
but at least it's the only way I can have it working.
Maybe the mount part could be interesting for the script.
And hopefully, it'll help those who have a problem.
Thanks for he great work DooMLoRD !

Hi all, after upgrading an already rooted neo v to ICS this script fails. (gets stuck at pushing busybox)
Any chance of rooting it without a clean install?
tia!!!

I tried your script it got stuck again. Do I have to repair from pc companion first? Does that erase current settings?

    [ROOT] Rooting Toolkit for Xperia 2011 ICS [FW:.562]{LOCKED & UNLOCKED BOOTLOADERS}

    [ info ]

    FOR WINDOWS ONLY

THIS WILL WORK ON BOTH LOCKED AND UNLOCKED BOOTLOADERS

ok guys so i was directed to this post:
    http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=24847709&postcount=18

where the user rasgula has posted a rooting toolkit...

it was slightly difficult to use for some users so i have modified it to make it fully automated with least user interaction ;) also as a bonus it will install busybox too...

for those who dont know this is the well known old "andorid emulator" hack/trick... its surprising that Sony left those permissions on /data partitions... Dan rosenberg has posted lots of research material regarding this kind of hack for other android devices...

Credits for this go to the person who found that this old trik/hack works on Sony's Xperia 2011 ICS firmware!

anyways the rooting toolkit is in the downloads section below

    [ requirements ]

    1. stock ICS firmware 4.1.A.0.562 for your device
    2. ADB drivers installed (if u are not sure, then install this)
    3. the attached package

[ READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY! ]

    This script will:
    1. root ur device using "andorid emulator" trick
    2. install Busybox (1.18.4)
    3. install SU files (ICS specific)
    4. do some checks for free space, tmp directory (will remove Google Maps if required)

    Before u begin:
    1. make sure u have installed adb drivers for ur device
    2. enable "USB DEBUGGING" - from (Menu\Settings\Developer Options\Development)
    3. enable "UNKNOWN SOURCES" - from (Menu\Settings\Security)
    4. [OPTIONAL] increase screen timeout to 10 minutes
    5. connect USB cable to PHONE and then connect to PC
    6. skip "PC Companion Software" prompt on device

    [ WARNING ]

make sure that no other adb server is running in background (e.g.: Flashtool, PCC, SEUS) and disable any antivirus

    [ how to install? ]

    1. make sure that you are on stock ICS firmware 4.1.A.0.562
    2. download the file posted below and save it on c:\
    3. extract ALL the files in the zip
    4. now just double click on "runme.bat"
