Making phonecall problem

Hello experts,
I am a 100% new to mobile phone and searching for an answer everywhere without any success.
I have bought Nexus 6 (my very first phone!!), and my device has just received Android 5.1 (LMY47I) recently.
Since the update, I have noticed that whenever I try to make a phone call, the screen blacks out and it dose not come back while the device is still making a phone call, which means I have no choice but to power off the phone.
It never happened with Android 5.0.1. If any of you would advise me how to fix this problem, it is highly appreciated.
Thank you,

Thank you,
I hate to say it, but try a factory reset. If that doesn't work, downgrade to 5.0. Also, report the issue to Google, so they can try to find out what may be causing the problem and fix it.

Good luck!!!

Thank you very much, Quickdraw996.
Your advise "report the issue to Google" triggered and lead me to reach "Nexus Help Forum" in Google, which I have never known (such a newbie!)
Apparently Android 5.1 makes the proximity sensor super sensitive, and it gets blocked by screen protector so need to remove it. It sounds unbelievable and unacceptable.
Then this forum lead me to mikeyxda's thread within this forum to fix this problem. I am quite nervous to "flash" as I do not know how/what to do yet, though.
Without your keyword, I would have never reached to this stage. I owe you a lot.
Once again, thank you so much. :good:
Kind regards,

How about using the power button to end the call ?

Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Free mobile app
Check under settings>accessibility.
So is there any way to make htc desire 310 move apps into microsd card?

Any way like custom rom, root e.t.c.
Link to sd works for that, but you do need root.

If you plan to move large games, use the "obb to sd" Xposed Module to move the obb files to the sd card. For large games, .obb files are the bulk of the games size.

I hope someone can help

I have a Samsung GT19300T that has a cracked screen and USB debugging is not enabled , I am not very familiar with the workings of phones when it comes to ROMS, Kernels etc heck ive never even rooted my phone except when ive dropped it :(

The stuff on this phone may help me in court so I can regain some custody of my little boy so is far too important to give to the guy at the local mall and I am not game enough, after many hours and hours of searching I think the only thing I can find that may help me is finding a Kernel developer to enable adb then push it back which I have no clue how to do and limited time to learn.

Would anyone please be able to either tell me if this works or point me to where I may find the Kernel guy, any other help would be greatly appreciated by this noob.

Additional information:
I bought a gt19300, it has a broken screen but still works just in case swapping it into the other phone was an option

I have a GT19505 to practice on if the adb Kernel thing will work

Does the screen power on? If it does you may be able to mount USB storage and get all files off that way.

Found brilliant post - can't ask a question!!!

I've spent the morning working through the "15sec ADB Installer" thread - it's a brilliant facility - but having got the image of my Galaxy S2's (broken) screen on a Win7 pc, cannot unlock it from the pc despite other people obviously succeeding. Searching for "unlock" and "swipe" on the thread hasn't shown the answer, nor has ploughing through a score of its pages. I've previously rooted the SGS2 and reloaded 4.0.4 after unlocking so not entirely unfamiliar with it. Can anyone help me?

Wallpaper value location in Android

In what file in the Android file system is the value of the current wallpaper stored? I'm not looking for the wallpaper files themselves, but rather, what file in Android tells the launcher what file to use as wallpaper? This is stock Android using the Google Now launcher. Basically (and without going in to a bunch of boring details), I want to manually change the current wallpaper without using the launcher by editing a file. Thanks!

Reading battrystats from adb

I'm trying to get the battery consumption of apps in the android device.
For that im using the adb command "adb shell dumpsys batterystats -c" to get the data from adb.

This shows the following attached output in the console.
Does any one know how to understand the the data out of this output?
What are these numbers mean?

Im using Samsung S4 with the official Kitkat Rom from samsung
And the device is not rooted.

I'm my memory bank serves me correctly you bricked your phone. Whether it's a soft brick or... I quote me if I'm wrong but you will need to plug that bad boy into a computer and speak with someone who's actually dealt with this issue. I am a die hard android fan. Rooted almost all of my phones. But surprisingly never bricked one. Good luck.
BTW you didn't try to install the stock g3 ROM did you?

hello, hope this is where i need to be and i thank you in advance for any help i receive because i am so confused and don't know where to start. so in dec 2021 i bought my f9212b vertical android head unit off of ebay and my boyfriend installed it for me. everything is working but its super slow and if what im reading is correct it hasn't had an update since i put it in. so that's pretty much where im at. i don't know where or how to update firmware or software or if i have to. i have my google account signed into the unit but the auto android update is enabled but im not totally sure that its current either\. its super slow. just a head start on my next question after i figure the software firmware stuff out... not a clue what the protocol name for my canbus is. its a 2016 Hyundai elantra, haven't been able to use this thing to the best of its abilities and i would like to figure it out after all this time.
Since 2016 to our days, Android versions changed the play rules a lot, when this units were launched, considering that they usually came with an outdated version (1 or 2 back), out of the box, and they expected to, hopefully, just one Android update, so for our days they may run really slow...

While you wait for a better answer here, from a more experienced user, you would redirect to the Head Units Forum, you may find alternative answers for your issue there.

Hi, I am trying to root an Infinix x650 I have unlocked OEM and flashing but can't find a reliable recovery file. Can you help me find it. Also I've come across terms like "flashing recovery", "flashing boot image", "flashing kernel", "flashing twrp". Can you explain the difference
I came across this guide which details how to root and flash on your device. As I don't have your device there, make sure you read everything carefully (which you should always do, anyway) and backup everything etc. before you start.

Twrp is a custom version of a recovery so you can put those 2 in the same pile. With that, you'll be able to flash things like ROMs, as in the guide above. Other than that, you'll basically have no reason to flash the others and definitely not if you don't know what you're doing with them. You should only flash and modify what you understand in the first place so just do research and read, read, read before doing anything

If you only want to try different custom ROMs then don't get any modern phone. The android modding world has changed a hell of a lot in recent years and most devices don't have many custom ROMs available.
Look in the device forums for the most popular phones in the last couple years and you'll see what I mean.
For the most part, rooting and installing different modules with Magisk is what most people do now as it's much more straight forward than flashing a ROM and won't have as much bloat as you can pick and choose what customisation you would like, via different modules
    1
You didn´t mention the model, and what you did previously, to cause this happen.
My guess is that he was trying to do the magisk root

hi, are there any custom roms for the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime (G361F) in particular, thanks in advance.

    Hello guys..:)
I would like you to go through XDA new users guide and you must read the FORUM RULES before posting here or anywhere else on xda.

The rate at which the new users are joining xda on daily basis is very high. A lot of users join because they have got some problems with their devices like bricked phone, bootloops etc. because of following incorrect processes. Some join to help out others, to share their knowledge and gain more.

So basically this thread is for all of those who want to ask questions and answer those.

So those who want to help here, just try to answer without flaming, let it be answered thousands of times earlier, show them the path, direction and let them do things on their own. Do not spoon feed, rather just try to point them to right direction.

This whole idea is of @undercover and the former OP Bruce Wayne and I thank him.

To The people asking questions here, don't forget to check for the links from 2nd post. That will help you increase your knowledge, and do answer the questions asked by others if you know the answer. Please don't simply say thanks if some member helps you, instead use the thanks button, that will help us keep this thread less cluttered.
