Thank you. Yes, once we have LTE working and eligible; I will look into for new phone.
I still have Peoples ROM and udated Profile and PRL but I still do not receive calls. So network is messed up. But it does not affect other two phones on my account. (they are nexus)

You can either call Sprint and have them provision your phone or odin stock and check EFS clear.

No developer options pressing build number

I cannot get to the developer options on this People's ROM no matter what I do. How is it done? Thanks!

Nevermind. I found it in Applications/Development settings. Arrgh! :)

Which modem are you on now?
FC09 modem can only be directly CWM flashed from EL30
To find it, you'd go up one level in this forum back to
Epic 4G Android Development
then the
***Roll-Up Sticky Thread*** (All stickied threads here)
in the first post is a link to

You'll want to go to the MIRRORS FOR ALL MODEMS: link
It should look like an FTP, in the 'zips' folder is where you want to go.

or you could just Google CWM flash modem Epic
and use the second link

Thank you. Thank you. I should begin with the fact that I am on FC09 due to my determination. :) I finally found out why my phone was not being recognized on the USB port of my laptop. Needed to be unplugged, battery removed, power button pushed for 10 seconds (as a precaution) and then re-powered up. This reset my ports and I was good to go with Odin/Heimdall so I could use the Tar package that was more readily found.

The only question my curious mind wants an answer to now is regarding the kernel utilized in The People's ROM and whether or not there is any update which I might apply. I can't leave things well enough alone and love learning so I get myself into more trouble than I care to admit. Once again, your help is greatly appreciated.

The kernel included was made by @Earthbound who has moved on to other devices. It is the latest FC09 kernel and should include everything you need like overclocking uv/ov and many governors and schedulers

Help! No recovery here

Hello, I am planning on giving my brother my epic. It formally ran slimbean with twrp recovery. Wasnt the biggest fan as there were reboots. So i just flashed peoples rom. Working good, but i no longer have a recovery. It will attempt to reboot into cwm recovery via power menu and 3 button power on method. But nothing. I assume phone still retained twrp recovery. Does this rom only work with cwm? Rom itself is fine. But not being able to use recovery for future flashing, backups, etc is a problem. Any suggestions?

Ooh, tricky, how to flash a recover without a recovery...
You could go the long route of Odin back to stock/other BML ROM with CWM , then reflashing TPR...
or
reflash CWM through ADB (I imagine you should be able to find the correct scripts/image in the rollup sticky I mentioned several posts ago)
or
Have you heard of [root] Mobile ODIN Pro $4.99
or *argh, it was chainfire's OTHER stuff that works with OG Epic 4G (non-Touch)
Flashify (for root users) Free (limit 3 flashes/day, in app upgrade $3.99, on sale 25% off 'til Christmas $2.99)
I just recently heard about this one, installed, but haven't tried it yet...

Side note: 3 flashes seems like a generous amount for day-in/day-out use, when things go wrong though, I seem to have to flash 5-6 times (ROM, Theme, Patch/Fix(es), etc).

2. Can't you just Odin twrp? I flashed Phils recovery via Odin on my s4.

1. BML: NEVER. MTD: Maybe, but not suggested.
2. No Odin-able TWRP is available. The only Odin-able recovery for Epic 4G is an old CWM that's designed only for BML layout. Keep in mind that Epic 4G is a much older phone and needs the conversion from BML to MTD, while GS4 doesn't need that.

I got it. I used odin back to stock, then flashed prerooted Rom with cwm. No worries now.

Glad you went with CWM.
Some of the older smaller versions of TWRP worked but the latest are just too big for TW partitions.

    Don't forget to flash the FC19 bloat files for all stock apps!

    Thanks to Darkierawr for the push-pull!
    He pulled the FC19 system and pushed me to release it..LOL. I will post the odexed stock versions he sent me in another thread this weekend.

    It is highly recommended to flash this from V2.0 because something wierd happens on 20% of the flashes, the home key doesn't work without this fix.

    The first thing noticeable is the Sprint Connectons Optimizer is removed by Samsung.
    I themed this with the lessbluebox version, changed the bootani, changed the wallpaper, put in all the mods we all love, added the silent camera without the low battery shutoff and Gtalk with video.
    All the stock apps (bloat) have been pulled and put into a flashable.
    This has everything else that 2.0 has with the same thanks to all those Devs.

    You MUST wipe cache and Dalvik or bad things happen (drove me crazy).
    The BML issues are fixed, Boot to recovery works and bootanimation can be seen.

    For anyone with battery issues please change i/o scheduler to anything besides cfq. Cfq does sleep but not as well as the other governors do on some phones. You also might want to wipe your battery stats with cwm (I know it has been stated this is a bad thing to do, but it has cured battery issues for me) and also pinpoint what is eating your battery up... I have been running the bml version on my epic for 6 hours and it has only dropped 9% with minimal use.
