This is the phone default image flash functionality. The phone scans the SD card for factory ROMs with those names to flash. If you put the entire ERD79 or ERE36 ROM zip and rename it to PASSIMG.zip, the phone will pick up that zip as ask you if you want to flash it. Just ignore these.

I have a bricked N1 which could be brought into HBOOT with power+voldown, but not fastboot mode.

so I downloaded the first ROM in http://android.modaco.com/content/g...-online-kitchen-optional-root-insecure-himem/ ,
rename it to PASSDIAG.zip, put it on SD card, the phone is still complaining about "No Image". How can I make it work?

Hey Amon_RA it would be possible to add to your excellent recovery support for Koush's ROMmanager App?

If you run your phone to a certain percentage (say 50%) each day, over and over. The phone can lose track of where 100 and 0% are. This will give the appearance of a shortened battery life. Wiping the stats and doing a full cycle can reset this.

You lack the flash_image binary on your phone...

where on the SD card do the nand backups get stored? couldn't find where they are.... so perhaps not even stored on the SD??? I have too many stored backups now and i want to get rid of some backups I don't need...
plus I'd like to rename a couple of recent ones (that I know what they included) to make it less confusing when restoring later on....

thnx

You should have a folder named nandroid on your SD card. They will be in there.

Thanks, please could you explain what do you mean by doing a full cycle ?

In reality i used incorrect terminology, as Li-Ion batteries act in such a way that two runs down to 50% is a cycle just as one run down to 0% (or as near to as you are allowed to get)

Wipe the stats. Run it down until you get the "plug into a charger" notification, then charge overnight so it is completely full.

does wiping cache and/or dalvik cache erase any data on the phone such as messages etc or is that only the factor reset wipe?

Can't Read MISC error message

Is there a way to re-flash the recovery image, everything looked to be working until I partitioned the SD card now my Nexus just keeps saying Can't read MISC:(no space left on device). I removed the sd and even try another and get the same error, even thought it partitioned it. I can adb into the phone but I can't figure out how to fastboot the image into it again to try resetting it

...help I have a $500 paper weight right now, any clues

CACHE:recovery/log

Pissed.

Had Cyan 5.0.6 working fine on amon162

decided to upgrade to amon-ra-170cyan to be able to do a nandroid backup
after i flashed recovery 170cyan, i get a message

"E:Error in CACHE:recovery/log
(No space left on device)"

My phone wont boot, a nandroid restore did nothing, besides return that same error after it completed.

When I say wont boot, it wont move past the Nexus screen, no animation, just the + sign.

any advice? help? please? pretty please almighty devs?
---
edit 1: Wiping Dalvik/Cache is atleast getting me into animation part of bootloader.. still waiting for more
edit 2: Awesome. Life is fine. Dont quite understand why, so if anyone would like to elaborate..

Leaving it all up just incase it helps someone else

This is a custom recovery based on Cyanogen's recovery source with a lot of things added by me. The purpose of this recovery is to avoid using adb by accessing all features directly from the menu.

This recovery is for the HTC Nexus One only, if you have a :
    - HTC Dream/G1 you should go here.
    - HTC Magic/MT3G you should go here.
    - HTC Hero you should go here.
    - HTC Sprint Hero you should go here.
    - HTC Eris you should go here.
    - HTC Tattoo you should go here.

    Important notes
    • Always check recovery.log before posting your issues!
You can do this by doing :
      • "cat /tmp/recovery.log" OR "cat /cache/recovery/log" right after you had the issue.
      • Use the "move log to sd" option in the "others" menu right after you had the issue. This will move the log to /sdcard/recovery.log so you can easily open it with a text editor.

    Features

Use the trackball (up+down) to navigate through the menu, press the trackball to select items. Use the Volume-down key to go back to a previous menu.
