CM9 BUILD 7 fb sync

can anyone confirm if this works on CM9 BUILD 17?

I'm not bothered about Samsung Market as I've installed everything I wanted off there.

But I would like my facebook contacts to sync to the contacts either via facebook or friendcaster, will this do the trick?

hey yeah I was using this with onecosmic until rc4.x which he does say it'll break the rom and it did keep rebooting. But samsung apps is brilliant, I got a lot of good games for free with that.

fb sync worked fine, not sure if it was this addon that was helping though, unless icssgs 4.2 fc sync was already working?

anyway I've switched to CM9 for now as I like the toggles and the T9 dialer

Does it actually have it working? I don't believe it is, I downloaded and used 4.2 as original based and it does not sync. It does sync the profiles but not the photos.

I will have a solution for this very shortly, I am just busy working on wifi calling for other people. It is of higher priority than this thread for the moment.

Just an idea

Wouldn't it be more feasble to extract the Samsung's apps from this port:

http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1521974

And make an install from this?

It's not the apps, its the setup and the fact that I am catering for so many builds. You could extract all the apps from that ROM and they ain't going to work. Sorry to burst your bubble there. It comes down to a few things, the major factor is the variation in build.props for the numerous amount of ICS builds we are now seeing.

I will be testing a new installation procedure that will put additional lines into the build.prop of any ICS ROM, so soon it will be able to be flashed into any ROM. However for now, I am too busy to set this up and then test it (cause I have a lack of testers and a heap of people that ***** and whinge - sorry not saying you guys just in general); if I could rely on people to test things and know that things don't always go as planned then I would be more confident in releasing something. But right at the moment I am building several builds, testing them and deploying them and I only have one phone. I need a dev phone to be able to keep up with the workload.....I have been applying for new jobs so I need to be contactable unfortunately, so its too higher risk. PM me if you want to be a tester.

Cool your like some of the other people in other threads I have been experiencing. Why don't you have a shift in perspective and be a little bit more appreciative that someone has/is taking the time to provide you with something that Samsung (who you've paid already) are not willing to do?

Posts with attitudes like this are against the XDA Mantra and what this forum was formulated on. Please take the time to read this post and understand it

i don't mind that you are experiencing and that you take your time to do something. i just don't like you continually post things that don't work and messes up everyone's phones and things that even you don't have the courage to try

You sir are a total douche!

Devs don't owe you ANYTHING, they are taking their own time to port or to develop things, show a little respect...

If you expect something to go right the first way and not have major issue, stay away from XDA, plug it on kies and stay with OEM roms. This is not samsung, nor google, this is people taking their knowledge and time, the support might be limited, the time taken for theses products is out of their spare time, people here have to work for a living and, sometimes, they have family and a whole life besides XDA.

If you want to do something usefull, why don't you try to contribute (beta test, develop, or something else than dissing the work of others) instead of complaining...

right! we should all post all crap we made, knowing that it doesn't work and expect not to f*uck up other users devices. of course that everyone flash at their own risk, but this...

NOTE: THIS IS SUPER ALPHA NEVER BEEN FLASHED OR TESTED - FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK AND DO NOT ***** ABOUT YOUR PHONE SCREWING UP!

please!

I've made the mistake of flashing this mod before.. guess what! my phone didn't even start after that. I tryed to ask about it and he didn't even reply. fortunately i had a recent backup. he could never get it working and after that started making roms... i feel sorry for the people that tried it

The statement is self explanatory. It is an ALPHA release, this is to help FIND ISSUES, not a release, not a release candidate, not even a BETA release, it is in the embrio state and is provided for testing purposes ONLY. Don't expect a daily useable release with an Alpha...

If you don't understand the concept of Alpha/beta/RC, you shouldn't even be on this forum...

Would you install Windows 8 on your "Daily" PC and not expect it to go wrong on some way? Without doing a backup first? Without having an idea of what alpha/beta testing is all about?

Honesly, this is like playing with fire and not expecting to get burnt at some point...

And again, this is COLABORATION work, TESTING and RELEASES provided by people taking their own free time to try some things out, they don't owe you anything.

If you don't understand theses basic concept, GO BACK TO STOCK ROM and rely on Samsung's CS...

If you want to try things out, then expect it to go wrong at some point, backup before doing anything and report issue as they are. No colaboration (IE: mindless anoying complaints) means unresolved issues.

PS: don't feel sorry for people that tries out things, most of us know what we are getting into when we do!

i understand "alpha/ beta/RC" but i don't understand "never been flashed". the same way I dont expect to be the first person in the world to install W8. i expect it to be tested first before the release even if it as alpha release

This is going in circle, you had issue with an alpha release, either report it or be gone. Nothing else is usefull either for the developper or the community.

This did work for me on AOKP M4 with Black Infinitum 4.9. Had to manually install Samsung Apps from /data/app, though...

Sacob, what gives man? That text is from another thread, not even this thread. Yes this does work. It has been flashed on most builds. I am just saying that in order for me to have a single flashable file for download that will suit ALL builds will require some work. I am freakin up to my ears at the moment. Please stop going around the forum rubbishing my threads. I think other forum members have covered what needed to be said anyway.

That is strange. Although after speaking to one of the themers on here he mentioned that AOKP and some other builds done have signed apks. Meaning they have absolutely no META-INF in them at all?

I am wondering if Samsung Apps requires that?

Did you mod your build prop for this?

**EXTRA INFO** READ THIS- If your phone does not have a kernel that supports FM radio then the Radio packages WILL NOT WORK! Please use spirit FM if that is the case.

    1. AKOP_test1 - the same apks but with the Samsung Apps apk relocated to system/app
    2. AKOP_Test2 - All ICS touchwiz Galaxy SII versions of the same apks and .so files but with Samsung Apps apk moved to system/app
    3. Sams as version 1 however apk still located in data/app but symlinked to system/app (tricking 4.04 that it is actually residing in system)

    4. Same as version 2 with all ICS apks (including TW ICS framework)with no FM radio and Samsung Apps in data/app no symlink

    5. Same as version 2 with all ICS apks (including TW ICS framework)with FM radio ICS Samsung Apps in data/app no symlink but with radio module test 1

    6. Same as version 2 with all ICS apks with (including TW ICS framework)FM radio ICS Samsung Apps in data/app no symlink but with radio module test 2

    7. Same as version 2 with all ICS apks with (including TW ICS framework)FM radio ICS Samsung Apps in data/app no symlink but with radio module test 3

    8. Same as version 1 with all Gingerbread Galaxy SII apks (tried and tested and working on my ICS) however with FM radio from JW1, Samsung Apps in data/app no symlink but with the gingerbread radio module

    I got it working...

    Fianlly I got it working.

Download the attached zp. It's flashable but I didn't flash it through CWM. Just copy the files into their respective folders through Root Explorer or any other you got. It's very easy to figure out where the files should copied if you look into the folder structure of zp. Then set the appropriate permissions (again I did it with Root Explorer.) and reboot. Ta da. It's done.

Disclaimer: Apply it at your own risk.

    Good luck.

It'll crash for the first time but will work like a charm after that. I did it on Onecosmic RC2.11.

    Hi guys,

Samsung Market doesn't work with Gummy ROM 1.2 :(
Is it possible to update this ?

    Bye.
    Samsung apps on aosp is all about touchwiz.xml in /system/etc/permissions ; SamsungApps.apk and SamsungAppsUNAService.apk in /system/app ; twframework-res.apk and twframework.jar in /system/framework.
So if you only want Samsung apps just flash this:
    http://db.tt/7vGmfWN1
    2
so am i right in saying that i can flash the attached zip?

Please read the post above. flashable zips linked in the OP will be the ones to try. So yes just flash via recovery.

Docs Rom by vibranturk has working Samsung apps if that helps ..its somehow integrated into their framework or build.prop

    http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=21328598

Already communicating with Vibranturk about testing for my facebook sync.

I had all of this working in my own ROM (and even long before I released my ROM for everyone else)...I just wanted to create this package and release it for all others to use that were on any ICS ROM. Saves people downloading an entire ROM when this was the only feature they wanted and they were happy with the ROM they are using. I saves them needing to change ROMs just for Samsung apps and gives them with what ever ICS they feel ;)

Hense I am still encouraging testing and feedback....who wants to be going and RootExplorering and placing files every time they flash a ROM? I certainly don't! And titanium backup won't restore all components...nor will Nandroid unless they advance restore their previous "system" which kind of defeats the purpose of flashing a new ROM doesn't it? Its just easier if I get feedback (detailed ....not just "Oh it doesn't work") so I can provide something fo rthe community that will get used ;)

Being able to run Samsung apps and bloatware is a downgrade if you ask me...

    Why call it a upgrade?
