Because they have ported this in the past, and it worked quite well, the only problem with this thread, at least that I see, is it is a placeholder.
yes ! you cant open a rom dev thread without having a rom !!
and he is announcing a beta in the upcoming hours..now for a week.

+1. If he is going to release it he will release it. He can choose when, and what will be fixed, if you guys want it now, build it yourself otherwise don't ask for ETA's or complain.
Rom threads in the development subforum can only exist if they have links for download, that is if a Rom is already released.
Coming soon threads and placeholders are not allowed.
If and when the OP has a Rom uploaded and needs to reopen the thread with links added he can contact me or another mod.

Hi guys
As there are a lot of people still hoping for a fully working Sense ROM, we decided to continue Kenia's and Chiledog's work on the GalaxySense port.
Currently we're working with the Nexus S 3G friends here on xda (links at the bottom) to make dev work faster!
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Since the Nexus S build is still having problems booting on our SGS,I will work on the latest Kenia's GalaxySense that he never released! Unfortunately it has broken WiFi,but thanks to Jurgen Taipi,one of the beta testers,we finally have a 3G fix A new release is coming in the next hours,so stay tuned!!
Unfortunately,there's a side note too: I'm the only SGS dev working at this and I don't have much free time,so releases and development are damn SLOW. I have enough beta testers,so testers applications are now closed. But if you're a dev and you have experience with ports and kernels,please,join the team,your help will be very much appreciated

P.s. To everyone here: If you can't wait for a decent release,it's your problem,right? Yeah,I could have released a ROM with no WiFi but I decided to wait a bit more. The first beta will have at least basic connectivity (wifi,bt and why not,also 3g maybe)7
Sensors and autobrightness are surely working fine. I'm still working on WiFi and camera,I'll let you know real-time

Yeah coming today I guess,since here it's still 8:05 P.M.
This is why I didn't release anything yet I want to give basic connectivity first!
