So, is there a reliable way to fix the GPS yet? I just got a Valencia and it's literally unusable. Poor WiFi reception and poor battery performance, both I can live with. But the GPS issues I just cannot overlook.

Fix takes forever, and even then the signal is so poor that the navigation (two apps tested) "jumps" randomly between locations in (approx) 150 meter radius or stops working altogether.

I've got the latest 2014_06_19 build, not rooted (yet, I guess…).

Hi,

Could you tell us where this kernel comes from ?

---------- Post added at 04:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:52 PM ----------

Hello to everybody.
The battery problem is the biggest problem that I am experiencing on this phone that has great featurest.

I put it under control with batterbatterystatus and actually can confirm that the phone never goes into deep sleep mode and remain in a awake state all the time. To tell the truth I had already installed several applications, but also after freezing all app, the problem remain.

Unfortunately the kernel does not allow to trace the kernel wakelock because for unknow reason the used kernel do not support it (there is not the expected path /proc/wakelocks). So we can not understand what is the function that keeps our phone always awake.

Is there someone with clean phone that can do a further test to confirm the above analysis?

I am inclined to think that it is a problem of the kitkat rom rather than doogee device, but I found discordant information . I'm no expert, I'm just trying to put together information taken from various international forum.

Anyone, in this expert forum can help me/(us)?

Thx

Forgive my poor english:rolleyes:

I experience the same: no deep sleep state at all.

I have also noticed that I cannot see any kernel wakelock stat.

Maybe one hint is the high CPU usage of the system_server process. Can you observe the same ? Is your kernel labelled as: info@doogee.cc 2014/03/22 ?

Is there any posibility or menu where i can see the result or an advice if that boot.img is installed correctly?

Thanks allot

Because the sound quality was bad I bought a external usb dac (HiFimeDIY android dac sabre)
I used UsbAudioTester and it seemed to work well but when I use the Usb Audio Player Pro it says android doesn't recognize the device but linux does. Anyone know how I can get this dac to work when playing music?

Yes, I have the same kernel.
It seems that this kernel (Kernel Asylum) does not implement the wakelock directory so all appI like gsm battery or betterbatterystats can not read this statistics.
Are your phone clean? Do you have already tried the factory reset?

I did a complete wipe and flash of the initial ROM with SP flash tool, still no deep sleep. I guess we would need a custom kernel to replace the original one to see a difference.

Fiuuuu...You have saved me in extremis. Someone somewhere have told that the factory reset recovered the deep sleep. I was ready to do it.
I think that we can just hope in a new release kernel.

I managed to fix the "no deep sleep" issue by flashing back the original ROM without the June OTA update. Conclusion: this update is the root cause.

WE GOT IT
I can confirm. Flashing back the originale ROM with SP Flash Tool without applying the OTA update the phone go in deep sleep..:good:

Thank mate

Anyway I can flash without losing my settings/personalisations/...

All I can tell you is I flashed the 07/05 ROM (my recently purchased phone came with the new update) and the battery seems to be much better as well.

Is the DAC working Davitos? I really want to get one now, I can't stand the sound quality through headphones/earphones.
Is the built-in DAC really this bad?

I made the root method perfectly. And a few hours later I Killed the phone system with root browser. I don't know how. I flashed back the original ROM (07.05). After then I made OTA upgrade and I have the new ROM. And the end I made the root method one more. And now is everything all right.

Extract the (scatter, EBR1, EBR2 and recovery) from the zip attached on the folder of the downloaded Loliipop ROM, open SP Flash Tool, select the scatter and flash it. I've reflashed the whole Rom, don't know if it will work perfectly if you make a partial flash.

Press the power button and volume up and enter in the recovery, flash the SuperSu 2.49 Beta.

Boot up your phone, configure it and enjoy. :cyclops:

USB Storage mount and unmounted tested and working normally (no strange reboots), and no soft-bricks when powering off or restarting. :D

I talk talk about the Guide from BUSOTE. Yes, he has done a good work. But unfortunatley I dont understand the translation from spanish to english language - that's all. Until now, I only have successfuly root my Samsung but even not the DG800. I dont want to do anything wrong....

However, thank you for your answer an the helpful comment.......

okay, many of us are not english natives, I will try to summarize the major steps to get root:

Download the official ROM for this phone: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-eEVUUoOlT4bWI1MXRQcU5Fd28/edit

Unzip the content of this ROM to locate the scatter file.

Download the custom recovery created by loaded2107 and SuperSU: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=53104852&postcount=61

Put the SuperSU zip file on your SD card

Use this tutorial and flash the custom recovery from loaded2107 using the scatter file from the ROM archive: http://www.gizbeat.com/3774/how-to-flash-cwm-without-root-with-sp-flash-tool/

Power off the phone and boot into recovery mode (power + volume up) and then flash SuperSU from the recovery using "flash zip from SD Card" and select the SuperSU zip you put on your card at step#4

    Reboot and you are done

    Helpful Information!

Hi everyone! I may be a newbie on XDA forums, but I've been monitoring this thread very closely since its beginnings (I have a Doogee DG800 as well).

I've figured out some interesting things I would like to share with you all.
-Deep sleep mode works if you turn on "back-touch" from the settings app...it's weird, but it works (even on the June update).
-Busybox does not seem to work well on the DG800 (it installs fine? without error) but apps that utilize it (titanium backup, viper4android, etc) are unable to work well.
-Sound quality is atrocious, but this can easily be fixed by equalizer apps/Poweramp.

Does that battery seem to charge fairly slow for anyone else as well?
