Any way to know if this will work on the galaxy s variants? I would really killer 40usd on my vibrant.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Incredibly awesome!
If google hasn't hired you yet, they should.
Can't wait to test the 2G/3G feature, there's a part of the building where I work that has no 3G coverage whatsoever and I'm sure my SGS is polling like crazy for 3G when I'm in there.
I also read an article about wave lengths that was claiming that 2G reception is always better than 3G within buildings
and I guess in the end it's kinda like wifi 3bars of 3G will use more battery than 4bars of 2G because the lower the signal is, the higher the power requirement will be.
I have the following bug due to which I deinstalled the app again:
I made the app turn off 3g when the screen is off and switch to 2g for cellular reception.
Unfortunately when turning the phone back on again it first enables 2g (GPRS) then completely kills cellular for 30-60 seconds and only then turning on 3g. Within this time data is completely unavailable.
Also the app list does not work for last.fm as it turns off data even when the app is running in foreground once the screen is off.
With such a function implemented in SuperPower we could not only save battery and traffic but also personal data from being sent. All this would require would be a "white list" with the allowed apps and the user could select the apps that are allowed (preferably the way Superuser requests root access)What is iptables?
iptables is the userspace command line program used to configure the Linux 2.4.x and 2.6.x IPv4 packet filtering ruleset. It is targeted towards system administrators.
Since Network Address Translation is also configured from the packet filter ruleset, iptables is used for this, too.
The iptables package also includes ip6tables. ip6tables is used for configuring the IPv6 packet filter.
Dependencies
iptables requires a kernel that features the ip_tables packet filter. This includes all 2.4.x and 2.6.x kernel releases.
I just came up with something that will make this app even more super
Many apps in the market and even the bloatware in the OS have the habit of randomly sending data without user permission; some even send personal data at times, all at the expense of the sleeping 3g/wi-fi connection and our battery.
So here comes in play iptables:

There's an app called Droid Wall at the moment, but it's not too reliable on my SGS (crashes when rules are applied, on startup and sometimes stops working without notice).
Hope you'll consider it.
Hi, just thought I'd share a couple of problems I've experienced with this app:
* On battery, and on waking the phone up, sometimes the Wifi stays off. The button on the notification bar does not work. When you go into Wifi Settings the Wifi is off with status "Error", but you can re-enable it successfully here.
* One instance I had the same problem as above, but Flight Mode had switched itself on? I could turn Wifi back on, but couldn't turn flight mode off. Had to restart my phone.
With all options disabled apart from: Wifi: Auto data disable, Auto Wifi disable (1min), Charging: Do not disable data, Do not disable Wifi.
