I have win 7 64 and here is what worked for me:

1. Uninstall HTC Driver (this will likely give you an error, you can ignore it)
2. Uninstall HTC Sync
3. Download and install PdaNet
4. Follow the directions when installing PdaNet

It seems like the win 7 drivers never installed correctly. Sync 2.0.25 should have installed the correct ones. I had the EXACT same problem as you on my win7 x64 computer 2weeks ago. Only other option would be to follow the guide to download the drivers and manually install them I think someone linked earlier.

Thanks, this worked for me to after going from a working ADB driver with a darchdroid 2.1 rom to an unrecognized device (no device detected message) with damagecontrol 2.0r2.

I have win 7 64 and here is what worked for me:
