I would definitely go back to stock and flash 1.7 again. This ROM has all the Samsung root checks disabled, so the padlock icon should never show if everything installed correctly.
I didn't even realize that! I rebooted when I read this post to check it out!! Very cool!
On another note, I was having issues all around from battery to gps to signal dropping so I decided to odin back to stock. Boy was I having issues with that. It kept on bootlooping on the splash screen. I rebooted it, tried odin again and nothing. I had to use a different computer with Odin and it sucessfully turned on after about a 45 minute mini coronary. LOL. I flashed 1.7, waiting about 20 minutes before I install any apps and going to test out GPS.
I'm hoping that this fixes it all for me. GPS is not a huge deal breaker for me, but the battery life is annoying. Thank god I keep a charger at work. Other than that, I love the rom. It runs fantastic on the phone. No reboots, no fcs, nothing! I remember when I tried out the HTC Hero for Sprint and said "Android Sucks" and bought an iPhone for about a year and half. Came back to the Nexus S and fell in love all over again because of great devs!!! Thanks Esch! Appreciate your dedication! :good:

I don't like auto brightness, so I don't use it. In the notification pull-down I always uncheck "auto". But randomly it turns itself on. Anyone else notice this? Is it a possible bug?
Also, is there a way to keep the screen on when charging via car charger? My phone is my navigation on my motorcycle, and I have a car charger adapter connected to my battery. It charges fine, but the screen turns off. I noticed this yesterday when I was trying to find a building downtown and my map was gone. And my motorcycle gloves don't play nice with the screen, so no can't just swipe it on.

I have just changed the time out settings to 30 minutes because I couldn't find this option neither.
Where do you have your mount? Is it Secure on the bike? Id be scared to death that my phone would fly off if I went to fast!!! :silly:
UPDATE:
Also I just went outside to my backyard, opened up maps with no WIFI and only just the stand alone GPS and it found me within two minutes! Will report back tomorrow on my battery life. Not sure how good it will be though cause my signal at work sucks!
