Is it normal to get a error 403-Message instead of the ad?
If not, how can I fix this?
A 403 error means that the URL requested was denied by the web server, this can be normal it depends on the URL and the web server config.

Been browsing the host file and see IP v6 addresses mapping in first lines...
Care to explain why?
I've been using the ad-free app since rooting my phone two months ago and I love it...for the most part. I find that the Craigslist Notification app is not always ad-free. It will be when I look at it, and then I go into it again, maybe even two minutes later, and there are ads. I cannot figure out what to do. I have downloaded host file updates. I have not changed any configurations in the ad-free app b/c I don't understand what to change and what it would do...there are no instructions in the app...I am a complete techno newbie. If you could help me get rid of the ads permanently, or instruct me in how to configure the ad-free app, i'd greatly appreciate it. TIA!!

127.0.0.1 gstatic.com
127.0.0.1 googleads.g.doublecheck.net
127.0.0.1 www.gstatic.com

If you run adfree any changes you make will be lost next time it updates, instead we made a website so you can add additional hostnames, or stop a hostname from being added to the list.
been trying to block ads on QR Droid i first tried the TCP Dump but it gave me empty list so i used alogcat and i got "www.gstatic.com/afma/sdk-core-v40.js" ad request and then my phone received "googleads.g.doublecheck.net:80/mads/....."
tried to add to hosts files
Code:127.0.0.1 gstatic.com 127.0.0.1 googleads.g.doublecheck.net 127.0.0.1 www.gstatic.com 127.0.0.1 www.gstatic.com/afma/sdk-core-v40.js
As I mentioned, I'm on sense 3.5 Rom on my htc incredible. Any idea why this would be happening?
It's unlikely you'd ever be 100% adfree, it's just too much of a cat and mouse game and there is numerous ways to beat it.
If you enable TCPdump then run the apps and then open the TCPdump log screen it will show host names requested by the apps/browser on the phone.
You can then click on the hostnames and it will attempt to add it to your personal block list on the adfree web interface.
The hosts file only deals with host names, not URLs so the first entry should have been sufficient.
Did you reboot to flush the DNS cache?
Also if it was being blocked that would be why it didn't show up with TCPdump, but without knowing which website/app I wouldn't be able to comment any further.

I'm getting a fatal error saying that my copy is too old, I'm using latest version from market/play store 8.44
I really would like to see Adfree in another store like FDroid!!
Cheers.!
