I have no idea what this ad is for (thank you lack of Flash, Chrome) but even without the applet loading it's intrusive enough. .
Yeah I get them sometimes too

Anyone else getting the "Brackley's" mobgift.com advert when browsing from Android?
It seems to target Android browser, never occurs when I'm using firefox from PC, it seems to delay until I've loaded a forum page and started reading it, then an almost full (phone-sized) dialog pops up with you're a winner blah blah, and an OK button to visit their site, pressing 'back' doesn't cancel it it take you back to the preceeding page
This is MEGA annoying, can the site owners blacklist individual Ads like this?

Be specific so that the admins can know where your "problem" is coming from.
The internet is full of advertisments and let's face it, almost every site that has an ounce of traffic uses ad revenue. The intention of xda is not to burden its members with ads that distract from the user experience. With that being said, if you have a problematic ad, please take a screenshot of the ad and post here so admin can take care of it. right now, that is the solution in place.
Thanks for your help in keeping XDA "intrusive ad free".
Ok 2day while browsing my friend stream on my phone, i saw a tweet by XDA, so i clicked on it to read the full story. When the website loaded i was presented with a box. The box said something like "Congradulations, this website has chosen you to select a prize" obviously trusting XDA i clicked the claim prize option and was presented with a choice of prizes. I chose a prize and it said "blah blah blah we have 2 in stock, please enter your phone number to claim your prize" when i read the fine print, this is a scam, wanting to send you £1.50 premium messages with quiz questions. Adverts like this on XDA trying to scam people are totally unacceptable. And i will be advising eveyone i can to boycott XDA untill you use more ethical advertising methods.

Stop bumping your post, if you're boycotting XDA, go somewhere else.

I too, got a big ugly popup from "gotfreebies.org" that even pinpointed my location, which was scary. It said that I'd been selected to win some crapple ****, and I had no other option other than to hit "OK". The back button did jack ****, I was forced to click okay.
I quickly exited from that site, but suddenly, when I browsed XDA looking for a kernel for my A501 Iconia Tab on a fresh install, I got a porn advertisement featuring a site called "shagbook" or something to that extent that just popped up in my face and started loading in the background. Intrusive? Yes.
So, XDA, please consider rethinking your advertisements, or blacklist these bastard advertisers. You'll put me and others out of our misery.
I know I can use AdAway or Adfree, but sometimes, that's not a solution if your device doesn't have a root solution.
+1 Im annoyed with these redirected fake sites and sites that auto start downloading mobogenie apk
