Working here mate(if you dirty flash, clean flash after a full wipe) - using MX Player(+ codec)

MX pkayer is partially working. Because playing some higher profile video makes phone to crash. try 4.2 or 5.0+ avc 720p vids whether baseline or main profile don't mind.

Although it's a bit pointless to test 1280x720(720p) in our phones due to low screen resolution(800x480) but I'll try it asap and reply

EDIT: 720p is working as expected

Video sample downloaded from here: http://www.auby.no/files/video_tests/

Video tested: "Suzumiya mkv 720p h264 high profile 5.1 3mbps vorbis Styled and unstyled subs Common anime combination of h264 and vorbis"

Player used: MX Player + codecs

P.S. H.264 is heavier than Xvid/DivX so if it can play H.264 it can surely play Xvid without any problems :D
So no reboot using High Profile 5.1(which is heavier than main profile), it's only you mate. If you have dirty flash I strongly suggest to take a backup and full wipe your phone and do a clean flash.

EDIT2: I've also test it with stock video player, still plays as smooth as possible - NO reboot whatsoever.

Newest update here. WiFi works, did full wipe and install with newest standard gapps, dalvik, and google launcher. Used helium to restore app data. No problem with anything so far. Will check to see if cast screen is working. Using inspire 4G.

will the full wipe remove my apps and apps' data? I never tried this kind of update and don't know if it remove or not. that s why I asked.

I know, after full wiping and flashing new rom are removes all data but I wonder if I full wipe and update the same rom, will it remove all data?

thank you

SD data(pictures, videos and every file will remain) but full wipe and flash will remove any installed app and settings in rom

Do a nandroid backup and then try it so you'll be safe, how to do nandroid backup? boot on recovery and do a backup(nandroid backup) ;)

3) If you install "CallRecorder" and have an alarm sometimes the status icons(left top corner) sometime switch places more than 5 times(indefinitely when occur) per second(so you see first alarm icon and secondly CallRecorder and they change places multiple times per second - only restarting the phone will solve this) ----> This probably happens with other apps that show you an icon on status bar(top left corner).

Nexus 5 has this too so its a CM issue.

4) If you play with alarms(set new, delete old etc frequently) you may brake something(without doing anything else) and when you try to set any alarm it will say alarm stopped working, so setting up an alarm would be next to impossible and will create you a feeling of not trusting the phone's alarm(happen to me twice and I clean flash the very same rom - only way to solve this)
So next time when you have this make a logcat so we can look whats happening. Its probably a CM issue.

5) Battery status is not working properly, sometimes it says 20% and after a reboot it's 80% after another it might get 80 or 20 or even 5% (which is weird). Also it takes too much time to charge the phone from 99% to 100% (more than the usual that is)

Thats probably your battery. Original or fake battery?

Hey guys just quick request, I'm new to this thread. Trying to help a friend with HTC Desire HD A9191. Hope this thread is correct & it's for HD A9191?...pls correct if i'm wrong.

yes, this is for A9191.

---------- Post added at 08:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:25 PM ----------

WiFi is not working for me since cm-11-20140216. When I go back to cm-11-20140212 it works again. As mentioned some posts earlier: activating Wifi doesn't result in anything, it remains greyed out (without any error message).

Wifi won't turn on for me too on cm-11-20140219.

What I did was to use helium to save my application data to my SD card, then did nandroid backup. I clean flashed new 19 nightly and rebooted. I allowed Google to restore my account applications, then restored the application data with helium. You only need to restore and save the application data with logins. I didn't have to use PD98IMG.zip to update the os after app data restore.

Good to know that Nexus 5 has the same issue, logcat is a good idea but I can't reproduce it, it happens randomly

P.S. battery is original and it's not a H/W issue, different rom acts normal..

I have an 0.7A samsung charger... ofc its detected as usb, if i enable force AC charging will i gain anything?

You can try and if it works you'll be fine (another solution is to solder 3&4th pin ..h/w solution)

Logcat data that time of crash...anyway how to collapse contents like above on this forum.. help

If you don't have a clean flash then this catlog is next to useless (always try to do a clean flash and if possible avoid putting a backup back - if the error occurs anyway)

P.S. Yesterday I took a picture and my phone froze for ~5 secs and then it did a reboot (didn't happen again but I'm just saying guys so you'll know)

^ Agreed, I think I speak for everyone on this thread when I say thank you very very much Mustaa and Paul for helping our old phones stay up-to-date with all these awesome new features! I'm gonna switch nightlies tonight, I haven't done so in a little over a month, and when I jump I always see drastic improvements. c: Will report back when I test this newest nightly tonight because I'm gonna wait for those hot reboot fixes c:

Thank you both and everyone else who made this ROM possible, it's truly amazing to have you guys around to help our phones stay alive! :)

I recognize this. This is what happens when there is not enough ION memory. The phone then reboots while trying to allocate. Can you play the video with MX Player in sw mode?

@Mustaavalkosta I think I have found a fix for these reboots: https://github.com/paulb-nl/htc7x30-3.0/commit/092af88b56e49c45d0cec8af5e54f9eebc4e896c

Yes. No problems with sw mode except too slow to play on my old dhd :)

Thanks for the
Nice fix I'm waiting for tonights build I'll try it after that again.

TRIED. First there's no crash Thanks to paulb_nl. Now phone Still can't play that vid. On jelly bean 4.2.2 those all vids plays fine with hw codec. Now it isn't kernel issue, I think this is a rom issue.

I noticed diceplayer fails to play all videos with native crash. Sw mode works fine

The 22nd nightly is the one with the fix? Even though the modification time is the 21st? On the official listing, the 21 nightly was modified on the 20th.

So the nightly with the fix is now live? :D I'm gonna download if yes!

    General:
These are UNOFFICIAL CM11.0 Kitkat Nightlies / Releases brought to you by Open Desire Project and TeamCodefire as a continuum to CM10 and 10.1 nightlies. Builds are generated automatically on every first Saturday of the month. Process starts around 10:30 PDT. If it fails, then there will be no build until the reason for failure is taken care of which can take time. Last 7 nightlies will be kept on the server. If you want a longer history of them, you are free to archive them yourself.

    FAQ:
Q: I tried to flash the ROM and got this:
    Code:
    Installing update...
    set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
    E:Error in /sdcard/..path od ROM.zip
    (Status 7)
    Installation aborted.
A: Update your recovery to one that is compatible with new recovery functions. See the list below.

Q: I've used HTC Dev unlock and flashed the rom but it won't boot. What should I do?
A: You need to extract boot.img from the zip and flash it via fastboot. If you don't have fastboot executable anymore from flashing recovery, install Android SDK platform tools (Linux users should find it from distro's package management) and then reboot to bootloader, open command prompt and navigate to the location you extracted your boot.img and type:

    Code:
    fastboot flash boot boot.img

You need to repeat this everytime you flash new version of this rom to ensure everything will work fluently as long as you have just basic HTC Dev unlock.

Q: Where are my developer and performance options?
    A: http://goo.gl/jpS8r

Q: Feature X doesn't work, let's make 1000 posts about it to annoy everyone.
A: Please, dont. Use search and then use search again and only then report your problem with necessary logs. [Logcat guide, thanks to MusikMonk for the link]

Q: I hate you for not fixing this issue X!!!
    A: I love you too.

    Q: How I can build CM11.0 myself?
A: Setup a basic Android build environment.
    Code:
    mkdir cm11
    cd cm11/
    repo init -u git://github.com/CyanogenMod/android.git -b cm-11.0
    mkdir -p .repo/local_manifests
    wget https://github.com/OpenDesireProject/android/raw/cm-11.0/local_manifest.xml -O .repo/local_manifests/cm_ace.xml
    repo sync
    cd vendor/cm/
    ./get-prebuilts
    cd ../../
    . build/envsetup.sh
    lunch cm_ace-userdebug
    mka bacon
Once the build finishes you'll find your goods from out/target/product/ace/ directory.

Q: Something about something something something.

Turns out camcorder is working now. I rebuilt qcom-media and video playing and recording works. I spent a lot of time trying to get it to work with ION and trying to add back other PMEM memory but finally I got the right one :p

    Proximity Recalibrator

So, I was hit by sudden inspiration to rework leppie's proximity recalibrator app to be a bit more up to the UI standards these days. While I was at it I refactored most of the code to be more readable, fixed some misc things etc. etc. and of course probably broke something so dead unicorns ahead once again. I will include this tool in the next nightly build as I see it as an extension to device settings so it's kind of natural part of the rom. If you want to hate me for adding 18kb of useless software you don't use, you are free to do so. I love you too.

I removed the old-looking zoom in/out widgets and just limited the seekbars between values 0 and 50. I haven't heard anyone going above 50 so max value 255 is a bit overkill. This way seekbar is actually usable.

    Feedback is welcome as always.
