All of yall need a 3 day ban for being stupid. How about you try an app out before you throw on the tin foil hat.
Click on the widget and a box pops up that shows battery health, and has toggles for WIFI, BLUETOOTH, and GPS, along with a shortcut to your display settings.
Think maybe this is why it needs access to modify your wifi state or gps?

To the OP. Thank you for sharing and ignore the 3 stooges. I will rate it 5 stars for you.

Please explain to me why one should "try an app out" when the required permissions sound shady? I'm sorry, but that doesn't make any sense at all. That's like saying "This file looks like it might contain a virus. But I will try it out anyway to see if it really does."

Leaving aside your strange logic, I think (from the horrible german translation in the play store ;)) what it does is that the widget can show whether GPS/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth are turned on (because that may affect battery life and therefore may be considered as being an important information a battery widget can provide). If that's what it does, it of course has to check whether they're turned on. This is more a question of taste. Does a simple battery widget need to do this? Do I want this function but grant the permission in order for it to work?

I'm sorry I did not answer. This is not a virus. Permissions are needed to turn on and off wifi / gps with the widget.

Applications often have a lot of permissions, because they contain advertising. This is not a virus / malware. Good antivirus has not detected it as a threat.

Google scans applications before adding, especially those that have strange permissions.

See this widget: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...WVreW91dXAuYW5kcm9pZC53aWRnZXRzLmJhdHRlcnkiXQ..
GeekYouUp = worker google.
Check it permissions...

Don't panic. :good:
