okay, i dled htc sync and it cant find my device... Says no device connected. I understand the rest but that. LOL. why wont it find my phone to install drivers ughhhh
Ok, so what I did is (Mounted Phone) removed or killed all my Software running. Programs that use the SD Card when the phones mounted need to be killed. Droid Explorer, Kodak Easy Share, HP Photosmart. Programs like that. Droid Explorer is the biggest issue they don't talk about. It makes a ADB connection to the phone, won't let REV work. Once your programs are killed. Disable all AntiVirus, Firewalls, etc. they stop the program from running. Right Click on the HTC Sync and quit it. Once that's good. And you followed the The instruictions to get ADB, and The HTC Drivers along side Rev working. Do this
Run Freevo from your PC. Give it a second. don't be afraid to wait. But it shouldn't take longer than a Minute or 3. Once your Temp rooted, run Rev to get S-Off. You'll get some common errors. But once it gets to the running exploit section, that's where the most common issues are. If you killed all your Programs that use the Phones SD, the Running exploit shouldn't take longer than 5 Minutes on a Midrange Duel Core computer. But if the running exploit hangs on the "Running Exploit" for more than 10 minutes. Its most likely it messed up. Just repeat this post untill it works. Once you have S-Off. Don't flash the Version of CWM they offer. Just reboot. Once you reboot, Temp Root again. Install CWM (ClockworkMod) from the market. Open Up the app once installed. Flash recovery( the 1st or Second option). Then Reboot into Recovery. Now your S-Off, custom Recovery. No Root. Just flash the SU Zip from OP, or use Gingerbreak. Hope this helps.
