Changing dpi

Hi, I've never changed the dpi and I was wondering what issues I might run into and if it's just as easy as editing the build.prop file or using an app to do that?

Are there any tips you can give me?

Try texdroider dpi or similar apps. possible risk include boot loop and certain apps not displaying on Play. But you can always install xposed module play store fix in addition to remedy this. I've not tried the said DPI changer app on m8 so best to do a nandroid first.
