I've got a very, very bad bug: TeamWin Recovery doesn't let me flash anything! I flashed full wipe, cm10.2, cm7, they got errors (cm10.2 and cm7 flash immediately, copying nothing, and give me "some symlinks failed", of course), and I rebooted successfully to a data wiped CM11!!! Maybe it can't mount /system as rw? If you can fix the recovery I could use the bootmenu USB mount to mount system and replace it. Now I'm stuck without camera and Wifi!Android 4.4 Kitkat for Defy and Defy+

being the first ubber low end device running kitkat you guys have the duty to report how fast it runs.
Looking at this thread ., makes me miss my Defy.. I should not have moved on from the masterpiece..
I m having Atrix HD , but no signs of kitkat, nor a vry stable 4.3 ., Though my mom uses my Defy., i feel like using it for few days .,
And Quarx is always the among the first to bring the android build., sometimes even before the Nexus !!!!

Install 2ndinit to get cwm back, then flash cm10.1 and then 10.2. You need to flash 10.1 to get twrp back. Flashing 10.2 thru cwm is also not possible.
But you can also wait for next kitkat build, flashing KitKat is possible (tested)

Wow...I'd personally love to use pure AOSP with just xposed framework to make the very few customizations I need. This will be much lighter than custom ROM frameworks
Even Slimbean 4.3 feels a bit heavier than I like, mostly because of memory leaks which I think is specific to the Slimbean frameworks, as it doesn't happen on CM (SystemUI and server)

True words, but i guess its to complicated for normal users. If possible we should avoid that as good as we can...
As long as you an get the phone to boot into the bootmenu this should be possible by enabling adb and manually putting the right bits in place. ...
I also have some bad news about memory leaks; 4.4 revealed many of them in our libs (in moto libs). So these are really hard to fix.

Thanks for problem list@Quarx: Thanks a lot for todays nightly, which is running very stable and smooth so far! :victory:
For your next nightly, could you probably look after bugs #3 and #5? Both should be easily fixable, because in my bug list I already pointed to the necessary patches, and some of us are really missing the torch tile - after all, this would bring a light to all of us in the wait for Christmas!
