Re: [IMP]FAQ's All ROMS, MODS

As per me it is important. It will not cause any problem.
Yes, there is limit for flashing custom firmwares. If you exceed the binary counter you may hard brick your device. Resetting Binary counter will solve this problem.

I don't think there is any limit for custom binary... mine was more than 300 until i reset it with triangle away app by chainfire...

I am wondering, I installed a custom ROM and now my phone won't pick up 3G. What files/folder do I need to copy over to my phone to "refresh" the ones in the installed ROM?

Hey guys! Since I cannot post on the dev subforum, I'll have to ask here (weird, a few weeks ago I could post there, and a few days earlier from then, I got the same message I get now): Regarding the Inspiration ROM ( http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1952839&page=83 ) - if I have the V13 and I want to install the V14, should I wipe the whole data, do the whole reset, or just flash the new ROM above the V13. I'd like to keep the settings and apps and if it wouldn't impact the performance...well, you get the idea.

Yes, you will have to wipe data and cache before installing new rom or upgrading to new version. You can use titanium backup for backing up your data and then restore it.

I tried "Super Backup" for saving the apps, but it doesn't keep the actual data, only the APK. In some cases, like the games Temple run 2 or Subway Surfers, the data is also kept. My guess is it's because their actual data (i.e. my scores, achievments) are kept either on my SD Card, either in cloud. No idea, just making assumptions. If I use Titanium will the data remain even for other apps?

Try Titanium Backup. It has option to backup app / app+data
About Temple Run 2 it store its data in Android/data and all the new versions of Subway Surfers store data in /data/app/. Not all games do this, some games store their data in /data/app so you will require Titanium Backup for that games.

Thank you!
As soon as the owner of the phone (my sister) returns from holiday, I'll update the V14.

    >>Some Useful Advices

    Advice 1(USB Debugging):
    After installing any rom please go to settings and enable USB Debugging. There are some root apps which require it to be enabled.
    If you do not enable it then you will have it face Force Close in that Root apps.

    Advice 2(CM10>GB):
    If you are using CM10 and want to revert back to gingerbread rom then do not do it directly. Open the gingerbread rom and check whether it has boot.img inside it or not.
    Follow the procedure given above Reverting back to ginger bread rom.

    Advice 3(Maintenance):
    Wipe Cache and Dalvik cache from time to time for removing junk from your phone. Also perform it after installing any Mod.
    This will also help you to keep your phone Healthy and also fix some Force Close Issues.

    Advice 4(Triangle Away):
    Use Triangle Away & Binary Counter Reset At your own risk. Developer will not be responsible for any Damages caused to your device.

    Advice 5(Nandroid):
    Always Make a Nandroid Backup in CWM before doing anything like Flashing Rom, Flashing Mods, Playing With System Files,
    Flashing Kernels etc. In case something goes wrong.

    Advice 6(Be Prepared):
    Always keep a CWM backup of your Rooted Stock Rom before flashing any Custom Rom.
    Store your backup in some safe place. So that when JB update comes you can restore it before flashing Official Jelly Bean
