Someone just posted in the ZergRush 2.3.4
They said that they didn't unroot, OTA'd and still had root.

any ideas??

You need to go into Manage Apps then "Mobile Care" and clear data. This used to happen to me even without root.

Edit: I used titanium to remove a system app and used open garden and was prompted with the superuser screen

Hmm this is interesting... Did you use anything like OTA Keeper?

So I unrooted, I have a locked bootloader and I cleared the data on my moblie care app but the update has still failed 6 times now. Any ideas?

Should I reroot and restore the apps I removed with titanium?

Cindy: You will still be getting the update.

You: oh ok thanks

You: do you no if this will get android 2.3.6 or 4.0?

Cindy: It will be 2.3.4.

You: ok

You: by the way why is 4.0 not on the list of upgrade for this phone

You: i sure this phone can take it

Cindy: Probably because it will not update to 4.0.

You: ok

Cindy: Actually, it will eventually upgrade to that.

You: sweet

You: is there a date

You: onn that

Cindy: There is not.

You: ok

Cindy: Is there anything else I can help you with today?

You: do you no if it will get any more updates be for android 4.0 like 2.3.6?

Cindy: I do not.

I believe earlier in this thread it was said if your Rom was altered in any way it won't work (ie if you converted system apps, deleted, etc) I restored all mine haven't tried the update yet.

If you have removed any of the system/apps then OTA will fail. All system/apps must be present in order for OTA to work.
