After taking off the back to my phone I can see there is a ridge that runs vertical on the back of the cover where the cover meets the battery. I have read in other posts that folks have shaved this off to get the cover to lay flat after inserting the charging card. It just does not look like there is enough clearance to not interfere with the gasket!

Hi...The cover for my perfect ... the mobile is all the same..
Here pictures..

Has anyone tried spray painting the black OEM charging cover to match their handset (gold in this case for the Sprint variant)

Thanks!

I realize probably no-one pays attention to this thread but, I just bought to used/refurb'd (yeah right) and I'd like to convert to wireless charging. JUST TO BE SURE ...:

Am looking at eBAY:

Items:

351236118355 for receiver and
202424458777 for base.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Receiver does not look good because it will be centered against the battery, not the phone and you'll have to shift the phone aside for charging to work.
No need to spend money on Chinese "fast chargers" because S5 does not support it. You can easily find a genuine Samsung charger for $6-8.
Have a look at the photos.

It didn't look quite right to me, but got shoved to the back of my head ...

The base would be fine though?

Any good links to the pad?

Thanks for the comments, I hadn't looked at this before so needed some input.

Apologies, I meant the receiver. I've looked at quite a few, but can't find one that covers the area on the phone that the Laniakea does and I can't find that one either.

Now I am FULLY aware, that you will do a simple search and pull up a link, that I missed, whilst I've been searching for about 20 minutes.

I think it's a printed image only, not the coil itself.

As you've been good enough to reply (I am going to try 2 of them), I've one last question: in "general" what is a fair distance between the base/receiver? I've a rather think leather case - will it still work just slower?

MANY MANY thanks for thanking the time to reply to my questions.

I think it's 2-3 mm. At least, my wife has zero problems with Otterbox Defender, which I've bought for her third S5 after she broke the first two :)

Yeah I noticed the Otterbox's are pretty good - EXCEPT - when, oh accidentally the phone gets loose from ones hand and hits a wall on it's corner ....:p

Bought - haven't received - these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FUBI62C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GHDJVBZ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Let you know when I get them.

THANK YOU!

I also have the same issue. My wireless charger works on s8 but not s5. It's so weird. And surprisingly, s8 has a more thicker cover. Any thoughts as to why it would do that?
