Reporting a user

Q: How do I contact a forum Moderator for -fill in the blank- on a problem with -fill in the blank-

I have been on XDA for years and have always found these steps to be the best. Not only for you but for the process as well. Please remember to be patient. If you do not receive a message (shown in 4) within 5 days, please re-post.

1) In the upper right hand corner OF EVERY POST you will find the the caution emblem. This will look different, according to the version* you are running. Click on the emblem
*version can be found at the bottom left corner of this page

2) Please fill the pertinent information into this screen. PLEASE do not make it personal or use colorful language. Just be brief and to the point

3) You need to make a selection in the drop down. PLEASE do not be overzealous in choosing a topic. In 95% of cases you will only need to choose Other - Non-urgent

4) You will receive a message

In most cases this will be followed by a resolution.

Hope this helps

Emotions

Same exact way. Look at the options in the drop down. Report the post and select Other - Non-urgent and leave a discription. Be clear and precise.

Leave emotion out of the comments, as that will not be helpful.

That's my worst problem.Emotions makes sure that I am telling the real truth.Without emotions I lie.

Mod edit: With the transition of the forum from vBulletin to Xenforo the content of this thread and its opening post became obsolete despite the fact that the formerly attached screenshots got lost! Just a question. I use the report button often, and am pleased its addressed by a mod.

My question is if the poster, of the post :silly:, that I reported and is addressed, is notified that their post was reported and or addressed? I know I get a PM that it is being reviewed and when it is handled.

jeez :cyclops:, that sounded a lot easier to follow in my head...

The actioning Moderator or system will send you a PM and you will get a PM once resolved or if it has been addressed.

Anything else is between the offender and the Moderator, there is no need for the reporter to know other than it has been addressed, the report.
If the report is something against the reporter, usually the Moderator will tell the reporter or give the reporter guidance via the closing of the report.

But again actions that the Moderator takes on the offender, is kept between the Moderator and offender.

@sd_shadow Thanks very much for pointing @charles_john into the right direction. I know that the EE team under @Badger50 had already modified their stuck guidances and referred to your post. I'm going to close this thread and amend the OP by a link to your post.
