Please send a PM to that person next time, instead of posting your request in a thread. Thx.

As for the warning that user requested...the OP no longer maintains this thread and it is understood that flashin is done at everyone's own risk.

That screen u mentioned can possibly be used as an alternate download mode screen. If not, then a Jig is all u need. See my signature link below for links on how to make one or where to buy one.
And also see this thread for some very good info... Captivate PC Connection Issues, Download Mode and Recovery Mode Help :good:

OMG. That link worked; it magicked into Download Mode again. You are a hero.

Now I'm getting an Odin fail at Sbl.bin, but hell, I'm better than when I started. Can probably figure that out...

EDIT: ALL FIXED. You're the best.

I bricked my captivate right now making a downgrade from 2.2 to 2.1 using OneClick 2.1 with bootloader. When I'm turn on the phone this is stuck in the AT&T logo and reboot in the same AT&T splash screen. What kind of brick is that ? I need to use JTAG service or can I enter in download mode using a JIG ? tha battery don't want to charge when I connect the charger.

Tomorrow I'm going to buy 3x100k resistor to make the JIG. I made all methods to go in download mode and no one works (except the JIG). This is a video of my brick.

Yep...saw ur video and that is a soft brick, so a Jig will get u into download mode. And from there u can flash a stock firmware and Odin a kernel with cwm and then from that flash a dev rom. Or whatever route u were wanting to do after u get it back up and going on stock. :good:

Stuck on 2.2 rooted

Hello all, I tried a one click method to get to 2.3.5 and that worked, then since I could not get it rooted, I went back to 2.2 rooted, which worked. I have root installed, only to find out that rom manager won't flash cwm on our device. (Guess I should've read more before I tried) anyway no big deal, but now my phone will not accept any of the one click packages shown here, to go back to say 2.3.5
My phone boots and works fine, and will enter download mode, one click packages see the device in download mode (took me a while even to get that working, damn windows 8 drivers) but the one click is never successful anymore, I think it says trying to establish connection, but the connection is never made. The mini kies software from the captivate site for att sees my device just fine, and reboots to download mode, but from there it's the same thing... nothing happens, and eventually kies gives up and tries to get me to go into emergency recovery mode.

So any ideas?
Summary:
I think only Heimdall packages work.
I'm on 2.2 rooted
At the present time the only file available which seems to connect to my phone and work in download mode is the
SamsungCaptivate-SGHi897-UCKB2-Rooted-One-Click.jar (the one that uses heimdall not the one click odin)
The other files (odin ones here on this thread) (I think I've tried all the ones shown here by now) recognize my phone in download mode, but cannot transfer data.
Thanks guys!

^ Asylum1621,

Heimdall One Click for Stock GB 2.3.5 i897ucKK4 is here.

[Utility] KK4 Easy Root by Red_81 is here. And this Utility will also give you KK4 Corn Kernel version 7.0A that has CWM Recovery included, so that you can proceed with flashin Dev Roms if you want.

Also, another thread that will be of some help... Captivate - PC Connection Issues, Download Mode and Recovery Mode Help

Was able to use the Heimdall one click to get on 2.3.5, but the kk4 easy root that you linked won't work for me, and the section which flashes the kernel is in fact just a script that executes an odin kernel flash (which still won't work!)
I'm 99% sure this is a driver problem... but man what a driver problem

Re: [Stock ROMs](OneClicks Master Collection)+[Kernels (Stock & w/ CWM)]+[Modems] UPD

U could flash the KK4 Corn Kernel through Heimdall.
Heimdall command line tool, Heimdall Frontend, Drivers...http://www.glassechidna.com.au/products/heimdall/
Note: Heimdall uses its own specific USB Drivers.

And check out the PC Connection Issues link i had attached above for some helpful info on the drivers...Odin & Heimdall.

Best modem for 4.2.2 on cappy

Could someone send me a link to the modems that would be compatible with both aokp based 4.2.2 and the cappy? I have tried to find something but can't find anything and have been out of the cappy game for a while. My buddy wants the 4.2.2 and is on ICS right now.

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for loss, damages or any other kind of issue that can arise from flashing any of these packages. FYI: All these packages are tested by me on my device.

Modems are listed in second post.

PS: Most of OneClick are rar packages, you have to unpack them in order to get Odin One Click Downloader. Stock Kernels are tar packages, Odin flashable.

    DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS:
-Perform a factory reset on your phone. (Optional, recommended)
-Download any OneClickOdin package to your desktop.
-Be sure you have the Captivate drivers installed on your computer.
-Right click and Run as admistrator the Odin.
-Remove your sim card and external sdcard from you phone.
-Put your phone into download mode. (Press and hold both volume buttons and insert USB cable into phone)
-Wait for Odin to recognize your device. Yellow com port will light up.
    -Click the big Start Button.
-Sit back and watch. This should only take between 2 or 3 minutes to complete.
-When the process is finished and your phone begins to reboot and you see the at&t screen you may go ahead and unplug the micro usb from your phone.
    TIP:
Once you're on AT&T GB Bootloaders, I would advice you to use bootloader free package always in future. So far AT&T GB bootloaders have been backward compatible with all I897 (even I9000) Froyo/Eclairs ROMs. I have used I9000 based ROMs with AT&T GB BLs. Someone in CM7 thread claimed to use AT&T GB bootloaders with CM7 without any problem.

PS: Odin3 v1.85 (to flash kernels) is attached to this post, in case you don't have one.

Thanks to designgears, 4-2ndtwin, Cezar, Boog, Przekret, AdamOutler and many more developers.. :D

"Leaked" Stock I897UCKK4 Android 2.3.5 One Clicks *Heimdall and Odin*

**This is the "LEAKED" (NOT Official) Stock I897UCKK4 Firmware**... BUT The "leaked" I897UCKK4 and the "Official" I897UCKK4 have already been confirmed to be one and the same. KK4 is KK4. Credit to Time_Zone and his post here (and related posts)... http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=21379268&postcount=145
And I personally downloaded his capture of the mini kies update and compared it with the "leaked" KK4 and can confirm 100% with Time_Zone that they are identical.

    ====================================================================================================

Use these One Clicks to Flash to Stock I897UCKK4 Gingerbread Firmware from the Android platforms (Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread), including the (AOSP/MTD) Cyanogen Mod, and MIUI Roms and also ICS and Jellybean Roms. Of course i897 Gingerbread Bootloaders must be installed in order for you to run an i897 Gingerbread Firmware.

Odin will work on Windows (XP, Vista, 7 etc.) - Heimdall will work on Windows (XP, Vista, 7 etc.), Linux or Mac OS-X.

Thanks to Samsung  for the Odin DL Creator. Thanks to Benjamin Dobell for Heimdall - Open-Source Cross-Platform Flashing Suite 1.3.1. And Thanks to AdamOutler for Heimdall One-Click - ROM Packaging and Distribution System. Please take time to read up on Heimdall through the provided links, if you are not familiar with it. And be sure to hit the Thanks buttons for these Developers.

Here are four One Click executables that I put together. Each is packaged in a zip file along with a Read Me file that contains Info and Instructions.
The zip file is used just to include the Read Me and to make for a smaller download file size. Once downloaded to your computer, just extract the One Click and Read Me out of the zip and follow the info and instructions contained in the read me file.
The title of these really says it all, but the Read Me files will give a lot more info.

Again, these are Complete Stock I897UCKK4 Gingerbread Firmwares.

Hope many find these useful. :D

    Modems (i897 & i896)

Here are all the modems for Samsung SGH-I897 & SGH-I896. You need to have I897/I896 based ROM and kernel to use these modems.

    - i896_JI2
    - i896_JL1
    - i896_KH2

    - i897_JE5
    - i897_JF1

    - i897_KI2
    - i897_KJ1
    - i897_KJ2
    - i897_KJ3
    - i897_KK1

PS: More than half of the modems listed here, I have collected from here and there, don't even remember from where. However I remember there was one website where I found most of them. Rest are simply packed by me using same zip script from others. I am just putting up all Stock Captivate stuff at one place.

EDIT: Found the original thread by Oxicottin. Most the modems here are done by him. Check out his website for location wise data for best modems. Check this thread for a get around on RAT selection restrictions on i897 modems.

Also, check this thread for more I9000 based modems and modem dance. (I9000 modems requires I9000 based ROM and reoriented kernels.)
