Thanks for this. I was thinking about making one myself. I am by no means a dev so I try to answer whatever questions I can. Now I can just link this. Way easier than typing

This is a very good guide, but I always experience the same problem every time I change Roms. If I use Titanium, it does not keep my default launcher setting and my widgets never load. I have to manually remove my widgets and then install them again. If anyone has tips for these two items, please let me know.
The guide says "Once booted up follow guides above for backing up or restoring." I see a section with "Backing Up," but I don't see a "Restoring" section. Is there a section with the recommended procedure to restore the apps and data?
I'm looking for the dummies guide. All I want to know is this...
Given: My phone as-is with its customized home screens, settings, apps, and apps data.
How To: Flash new ROM (that's covered in other guides) and restore my apps, phone settings, contacts, customized home screens, etc.
It sounds like I can take my phone, back it up using Titanium in batch and choosing the "Backup all user apps + system data"(Any opinion on MyBackup Pro?), flash the new ROM, and restore using 'Restore missing apps + all system data." Yes?
I assume "system data" includes app data.
I just flashed back to Fresh 0.3 from the new DC rom.
I backed up all of my apps and system data with TB before I flashed. I wiped. Then I flashed DC and restored my apps and system data. Many things were missing including SMS messages.
Ahh well.
Hi,
I am looking to use TB to backup only my visual voicemails & my text/sms messages in the stock app. The rest of what I use is about 5 or so apps & I use exchange for email so I would prefer a fresh install & a restore of voicemail & SMS. How would I use TB to do that (SMS is the stock app).
Thanks,
Rich
All of this may seem like a lot of work, but once done you will have a robust system in place. And will allow you the opportunity to safely play!!
if i were to update my phone and loose my root can i just restore a backup and regain my root access.
I got a question, i downloaded quickboot and when i went into it i chose recovery and i got a screen with a blank phone screen and a red exclamation point. What does this mean?
