When i select the Delevoper Edition i came to the standard android
I dont know what i make wrong ...
I have this files in my root:
The openaos-gingerbread.img.gz is the image file from the first page.
Is there any solution to install some app which refused to do it with "Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card". I tried with play store, or installation with .apk, same results. I want to gave the tablet as gift to my 8 year nephew but her favorite game Diversion, refused to install in any way...
You can only use it when a micro sd-card is in the device. Internal storage is and cannot be supported, because the image file is on it. So either use recovery or boot into stock android.First of all, congratulations for this rom!!!
I've a problem when I'm trying connect my a101it by USB to my PC.
Down, on the status bar, it appears the usb icon. When I press it, it tries to start the USB app (I can see the green android) but the applicatione never shows, so I never can press the button for share my internal disks with the PC.
Can you help me?
Thx.
I manage to install degu gingerbread release to my gen7 archos 5.
but it is very sluggish and slow, is there any tricks to improve performance ?
Do you have a device with a hd, or the 32Gb flash version. On hd devices it is reported to be sluggish, however not much I can do about that. I only have the flash version, so I can't troubleshoot what is or are exactly the problems.

Archos|ARCHOS|ARCHOS|/init|0
Angstrom||/rootfs.img|/sbin/init|1
Gingerbread||/openaos-gingerbread.img|/init|0
Its 8gb flash version

Can anyone advise? One other poster has reported the same problem, but I couldn't find any replies.
I successfully installed Gingerbread on my 101it this afternoon - very nice, it was! But I decided to be a bit clever and try some other random stuff - which didn't work, unsurprisingly. I wiped my device, installed Chrulri's system again, then repeated the OAOS procedure and Gingerbread. I got the error "mounting rootfs partition failed 3". This has been happening ever since, no matter what I try.
I can still run the original Froyo, but this error's really bothering me now and I want to know what's wrong! Anyone know what it means? And what to do about it?
Clutching at straws here, but is there something I could change in menu.lst to resolve the issue? I had been trying various tweaks from this OAOS page: http://dev.openaos.org/wiki/SettingUpMultiRoot_BootMenu. Was wondering if one of the tweaks actually made the Gingerbread install correctly? (Or did I permanently break something inside my tablet!)
Menu.lst currently looks like this:-
mount /dev/loop0 /new-root -o rw,noatime,nodiratime
Hmm the initramfs script fails at the following line https://www.gitorious.org/archos-bu.../initramfs/etc/scripts/openaos_lib.sh#line686 ... ...
What do you mean by installing Chrulri's system?
FYI stock archos firmware can be rooted in the multiboot advanced menu when booting into it with openaos, so no need for other then original firmware installed.
Ah ... My amateur reading of the script suggests this may have been the problem. Back to painstaking steps & headscratching.
The flash version, shouldn't be sluggish. It should be atleast as fast as the original firmware. Do you have a logcat output to see what is causing the sluggish performance?

heres logcat I replaced my mac address with xx:xx:xx....

No not yet, it is hard to find out where it comes from. My best guess this far is that some voltage gets turned off/on when going into/coming out of standby that is causing the click.
It is also hard to debug with adb, going into standby disconnects the usb serial connection, so I have todo it with log files and terminal app which slows the process down.

If all goes well I have some time this week to make a release ready.
