ADB should work because its a recovery window that allows you to force push items and files to ylur phone
Its not the ROMs that change the cwm. Its the kernels. If you look at section 4 of droid styles guide you will see that cwm4 fixed for 7 is diff. Look into devil kernel as well. If your not wanting jb yet as its still in its developmental stages, the best ICS I've found working is aokp 40.1 with devil rc 5

I never even changed the ROM during root.
So to make the CWM Red stay as the recovery so that it won't revert back to the stock blue recovery, I must change the Kernel, correct?
Secondly, is there a way I can back up what I have now? Just in case something goes wrong installing a kernel. You never know.
Can I hook it back up to Odin, reflash the .tar file, unplug and put the battery back in, boot straight into the red recovery and back up the phone?
Or will doing this cause the phone not to boot back up properly?
