Well i didnt get bootloop just stuck on SAMSUNG logo. I am using TWRP. It may of been a bad backup. So when TWRP backs up, it knows to restore to SD card? Basically using the SD script TWRP knows what to do with all the files and put them in the right place including SD card although the SD script is not running when restoring?

TWRP will backup or restore everything from the defined locations you selected within TWRP's options. It does restore init files as they fall within the system files.
When restoring you might want to consider wiping system first, but at the same time make sure your backup is not corrupted.

Go to Play Store and download OBackup which does TWRP and CWM backup while the phone is on. Set that up and see if your restores work better. Also make sure TWRP is doing MD5 check sums on all backups.

Thanks I like 0 backup. And it worked! One thing im having issues with is any program that needs to pull a list of my apps such as floating notfications or smart app protector...Those programs crash when trying to load a list of apps. Log Cat shows no indications of a crash the programs just cloae out. It may be my Rom more so then my apps switched to my Sd. Have you had any issues like that?

No, I don't have this problem. Must be a rom issue. Is it the app that is crashing or the phone?

That sounds Rom related.
Check with the dev of your rom or test another one to see for any changes.

Good luck m8

So, I tried Perseus kernel on the Note2. Reflashed this mod. Wiped dalvik/cache. No joy. Failed even show the 64gb card at all. Restored nandroid for now.

Stock kernel doesn't have init.d enabled. Use perseus kernel or try to enable init.d in your rom. There is a tutorial thread somewhere here. I had the same issue and i flashed perseus. I'm not sorry for my choice. It works very well.

I must have goofed when I flashed perseus. Ended up worse than stock w/o the mod as far as storage. Didn't even see the ext sd in Storage.

Using the old apk you will have to make a few attempts, also when making a new attempt wipe the app data.

I am using an old version of this mod (v4) which was better for me, it takes me 2-3 attempt to set the location with the old apk.

Also, not sure if you know this, but since the last update Spotify brought out the app picks the "best" location for it to store the music. So which ever has more space ext/int it will select that automatically.

I keep running into the error of insufficient storage space when trying to install apps from the play store. It seems like even after this mod that the "new" internal storage is partitioned at 11gb and not recognizing the free space. I tried using Rom Toolbox to change where the apps install too but it gives same error for either selection. Attached is screenshots of the storage information. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thats true, this script is just a fake. I tried both Fat32 and exFat and It only change the info in storage to show external as internal but actually everything installs on the real internal (Data, cache, apks). I tried it on stock samsung rom, on assasins rom and CM10 with perseus kernel and the installation of the script is ok but always is the same, just a fake info.

if I go to storage data (as your second screenshot) the space is 11gb and not the supposed 64gb it might to show. When I full this space ofcourse I can't install anything more and my 64gb never decrease the free space, 'cause nothing is installed or allocated there by this script (it seems just symbolik links).

I tried in fresh installation and restoring from titanium and it dicreased only internal (the real one) free space but it is showed as external and the 64gb (showed as internal) never decrease the free space, then I tried installing from market in a fresh rom install and is the same it install everything on external (real internal).

The above user had the problem of new space if you install any mods such as move to sd or App2SD. As Samsung has removed this feature currently this mod doesnt work and will throw up the above error. Unless Samsung re-introduces in 4.2.2 as they have done for S4.

Using this Ext2SD mod, all the apps will still be installed on your real internal folder which is classified as system however the biggest difference after installing this mod is that those apps such as Gameloft games which previously used to use Internal memory for large game folders will now instead use SD card and not the internal memory.

After reading your post I tried download again the data of my games with huge size (instead of restoring it) and you're right. If I download again the data it is stored on the extSD and not on internal one. That's pretty weird  but it works now :fingers-crossed: thanks dude!! you helped me to save around 5gb of internal storage :p

Clearly you have no idea how this mod works.
Try doing some reading and maybe you will understand what it does.

I'm pretty sure that you don't read more than what you want.

Hemant already gave me the key "the bigger data apps" and I said thanks to him, this apps were the only thing I always was restoring and not tried to download again. After reading the comment of Hemant I did wipe to the data and downloaded it again, this time it install those files on extSD (real one), so after that I only replace the new files for the old ones and hell yeah it's working now.

    Hello folks,
i'm new of gnote2 but not of android. I'm a php developer and I like to play with my android devices and Linux but I'm surely not a king on Linux :) little more than a newbie :)

But first of all i want to describe the scenario:

    THE PROBLEM
Since in the past i had a desire hd and i had a normal management of internal memory and sd as separate process my problem is to have a similar management on my gnote2. Also i have 16gb version of gnote2 and i want install a lot of apps!!! Also i have a 64gb sd card available. I have noticed that my gnote2 installs all on internal sd also and apps download all their resources on internal sd. So with some heavy games and heavy app the internal memory became quickly full!!!

    THE SOLUTION
My aim so became to use the external sd as internal sd and internal sd ONLY for apps installation so became used as internal memory!
And... yes after a while i have to make this working!!! So now my 64gb external sd is used for all tasks which the internal sd was used and the internal sd is only used for apps storage!! All extra files (resources, caches, etc etc) are stored in my external SD!!

Also if i want to see the internal memory management i can see that now my phone has 64gb internal memory and 16gb external!! WOOW :)

HOW TO GET IT >>> VERY SIMPLE

Thanks to ashwin123 for this amazing video

Mod for exfat Sd Card for custom kernel
Mod for fat32 Sd Card for custom kernel

Mod for exfat Sd Card for stock kernel with init.d support
Mod for fat32 Sd Card for stock kernel with init.d support

    WHAT YOU NEED
    • International galaxy note 2 with root, insicure kernel and kernel with init.d support
    • External sd card class 4 or superior. (you can try with class 2 also and tell us how it goes)
    • Rom with init.d support (if not init.d support see below)
    • My file attached

    THE GUIDE
First of all make a nandroid backup!! I'm not responsable for any problem! You make this procedure at your risk!!!
    1. Format external sd card from your pc as fat32 or extfat
    2. Copy attached zip in you external sd. Choose the right zip. If you have formatted your sd as fat32 choose _fat32 version, if the filesystem is extfat choose _extfat version
    3. Go into recovery
    4. Flash the zip
    5. Reboot and....enjoy your memory increase!!!!

I'm on official jelly bean with kernel with init.d support but the mod seems not working or my kernel/rom does not support init.d

    Note:
    • If you want to access to your INTERNAL SD you have to go with astro or ES filemangaer or what do you wanto to /mnt/extSdCard
    • If you want to see how much space do you have simply go in memory info in settings and check but warning: the situation is inverted! The INTERNAL SD is seen as EXTERNAL and viceversa! This situation is present also when you attach phone to pc.
    • After the flash, if you don't come from a clean rom installation, please copy all content of /mnt/extSdCard to /sdcard to avoid file conflicts and files lost.
I suggest to start from a clean rom installation then install all apps!
I really suggest to flash this mod after the rom BEFORE first boot. If the rom flashed hasn't a kernel with init.d support follow this order: flash rom, flash kernel with init.d support, flash mod, reboot!

If you want to remove the mod follow this guide
    • Install from Play Store Es file Explorer and configure it with root acccess
    • Navigate into /etc/init.d
    • Delete 11extsd2internalsd

    IF YOU HAVE ISSUES
    Please report:
    • Rom and kernel in use
    • remove mod and app if installed
    • with es file explorer with root access or other file manager with root access go into /mnt folder ant take a shoot
    • with es file explorer with root access or other file manager with root access go into /dev/block/vold folder and take a shoot
    • with terminal emulator type su then mount and take a shoot
    • upload photos on this forum
