Yes it sure is. Use Option One ONLY

To Everyone:
I have decided for practical purposes, that I will release these this way
Windows gets its own V number
Linux/osx gets ist own V number
releases will have either no letter after the release, an A, or a B
witch means: Stable, Alpha, Or beta respectively.
This is starting from now on, so previous files are not included in this new system.

This will make it much easier on me, so if you dislike it, well.. Its my call

Also here is V3 of the Linux program. Added some things making it easier. I'm not sure if it works (coded it all in Np++) so I need someone to run it threw its paces. In theory, unless I did something stupid, should run fine. Source for windows and Linux is up on Github.com/simonsimons34/

Technically, this is just not telling HTC you are voiding the warranty.. right? If you try to use your warranty and they see "unlocked", it's still voided I assume.

It sure is, but hopefully you can hook back up to your computer and re-lock the bootloader. theq has a utility that willl re-lock your bootloader. I dont have a link for it right now, but its a great utility.

Hopefully, with his permission, we can incorporate that into this.

Already using that tool to unlock it

You can easily ruu back and lock it so no one knows.

You said it is universal and will work on any unlockable HTC Device?
I can confirm that it does not work on HTC One X gsm :-/

Afaik that phones not releases in America yet, and I don't have the phone to mess with.. We need a working root for the one before I can unlock it

Before trying it on a One X I'd check if htc still uses the same unlock procedure. But only because One X is so damn new.

Downloaded v1 for Windows, did not work to unlock my phone.

v2 is only available for linux? would be nice to have a windows one.

Good idea. I guess I need a tester to pull there misc, and then to give me that one, then to unlock, pull there misc and give it to me. We need working temp root for that though i believe.

The linux only thing is well for a few reasons. I dont like to release unfinished work

and I treat them as seperate.

There will be a new windows V2 in universal form. You just need to open the zip and open the batch. No more exe's till gui, there a hassle.

what do you want with an other one's misc? They are all equally structured.

attached here is a unlock script that I wrote today and it worked ob my device and is as generic as possible.

I don't know if it is very different from your approach, but I share my version with you, maybe it helps.

I want to compare the difference between the One's unlocked and locked MISC see if i see anything interesting in there..
As for your attachment, it appears to be corrupted. I cant download it for some reason. Nor can 2 others I had try, can you re upload.
PS i made it more generic today, i just need a universal rood from 2.3 to 4.0.3

I reuploaded my unlock script. and here are 3 misc images.

the only difference are the strings HTCL, HTCU or nothing.

Both downloads work now, thanks. Looking at the differences I now see what you mean. I am a total visual learner, I have to see it. I was wondering also, if youve seen a way to root the One X If not, if someone's willing I think jcase will look if you give him full remote access.

EDIT: Looked through the script, thats exactly how V2 does it

Well, I have no One X yet. And maybe wait till I buy it. At least some month till a revised hardware was released without display issues. Next month I'll buy a sensation for the meantime

I'll leave it to the One X users to get me a copy of their misc. then we can see if one x behaves like other htc phones.

Ill never buy one. Unless I find a new one someone wants me to use to develop on, I probably wont either. Thanks to a good friend, I will have an SGSII Epic to play with. When you buy sensation dont forget to test

If the one x does behave the same way, then its all left down to getting root. With the community as great as is it is, we could easily have a working root.

For now, yes. Unlock should be universal, but we've had limited testing on other HTC phones. (We only own a Wildfire S, sadly)
