Has anyone figured out a fix for the Youtube flickering issue? I know it is a bug on jellybean roms with video players. Otherwise, JellyBelly is flying!!! Nice work.:good:

Still No Joy

This is totally an idea that just popped into my head and may not work but if it does it would greatly help me out in figuring something out. So if you could try flashing this over the ROM and see if notifications work after I would greatly appreciate it. Download the Universal AC!D Audio Mod... the other stuff on the thread is pretty cool too but the AC!D mod is what I want you to try http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2002367 thanks.:)

bilgerryan,

I reinstalled everything fresh with three superwipes. Then I tried the notification sound. It worked. 1/2 hour later after three text messages, no sound notification. So I installed AC!D as mentioned above. Notifications worked again. 1/2 hour later, no more notifications.

I went into settings and changed the volume on notifications. Nothing. Then I linked it to the ringtone, and unlinked it, and NOW there is notification sound. 1/2 hour later, another text message and no sound.

In previous tests I was using chomp or handscent. So I tried this all again with the native sms application. Same result as above.

But I have to say, the ROM flies. I am going to try other ones like GOSMS tonight and see if any difference. I really want to keep this rom.

I'll keep you posted from my end, and if you have any ideas, let me know.

All ringtones and alarms work normally. When I nandroid back to 500RLS, all notifications work fine...........

Call me confused. Down, but NOT OUT! :confused:

Weird, have you tried playing with DSP manager?

No Joy on Notifications

Not yet, but I will try that tonight also,.

Thanks. I'll keep you posted.

Well, I tried several different things and no joy on notification sounds.

I am beginning to think I may have some app in my phone that is conflicting. I do not think it is a specific ROM, but might be a conflict with an APP that works ok in GB, but not JB.

I tried a different JB based ROM last night, and notifications worked! But I found out a couple of hours later that someone had been calling me and the phone wasn't rining, and no voice mail via SMS arrived. :)<<

My EVO log has over 130 changes to it with various roms, I am using a2sd so each rom has the same programs come back. I have occasionally had a FC when putting in a new ROM< but if I delete the app, and reinstall from play store it works 99.9% of the time. I only use TB to restore data so I don't have to hand type all of those passwords and log ons.

I went back to a different GB ROM and everything appears to be working.

Since I am a NON reformed flashaholic, I will keep switching roms, and keep trying. This weekend, I am going to back up my SD card, and then start from scratch. No apps at all. Then I will see if it runs well clean, and add on from there. I will keep each change in my EVO log. I keep it on Evernote so I can review anywhere on any of my machines to make sure I document any change or app I add.

Thanks for all of your work on this neat JB rom, and all of your help with my notification issue. I am taking the stance that it is my phone and app combination.

I'll keep you posted if I have any success.

Thanks

Restoring data may seem like a good idea and a time saver, but it usually causes problems.

That's a good idea to keep a log of changes tho, I've never heard anybody say that they did that.... kudos.

    This is a port of my ROM on the Shift, this community has given so much to me that I felt the need to give back. It is the most stable JB ROM we have and hopefully it will be pretty stable on the EVO too. I DON'T HAVE AN EVO!!!! So I will try my best to fix bugs but don't expect much. And I don't know if there will be any updates but probably at least one.

    > Screen Flickering & Graphics Issue

    Most of Graphic Glitches are Gone. Even though some users are experiencing them. Follow the Steps below to avoid these Graphic Glitches.

    Use ROM Toolbox or any other build.prop editor to change the below values in the build.prop or add lines in the build.prop.

    Make sure---> debug.composition.type=gpu

    Make sure---> debug.mdpcomp.maxlayer=2

    If you don't have them, add them at the bottom of your build.prop. If you have to change the values or add lines, reboot afterward.

    > Instagram Problem

    After applying the Screen Flickering & Graphics Issue Solution do the Following also.

    ->Enable Developer Options
    -> Put tick mark to Disable HW overlays. (This gets disable on every reboot. Enable it again)
    -> Put tick mark to Force GPU rendering.
    -> Put tick mark to Don't Keep Activities.

    OP updated with JellyBelly v5: Lagfree Edition... ENJOY!!! Just for the record I am going to leave Alpha in the title of the thread simply because I don't own this device and there is no way for me to test anything... However I built this ROM from an EVO 4G ROM and you don't need to worry about it not working but do please inform me of any bugs and I will do my best to get them resolved. Thanks for using my ROM, I hope you enjoy it (I think you will).
